Exclamation Tortuga Fleet Astrometrics and Stellar Cartography

Hi Folks.

This is a little project of mine embedding the ingame maps into the Google Maps API.

This is in an early alpha state at the moment, new content and features will be added as the project goes (and I find time). Plus atm this is viewed best in Firefox 3.x, IE 8 works but has glitches (in the navbar some margins are wrong), Safari does funny things with the accordion pushing the main div longer and so on. I think I will do optimising for Firefox and IE but not for Safari and Opera, but that may change.

To get a pleasurable viewport you need a resolution of at least 1024x768 pixels, but you need to maximize the viewport (using F11). Best resolution is 1280x1024 and up.

Since this makes heavy use of the Google Maps Api you need Javascript to be activated.

Planned for the future are for example maps of the sector blocks and a search function.

Please comment with problems or suggestions.

Thank you.

@Cryptic: I know that the maps are copyrighted to you, I have included a copyright notice and a link back to your site. If you don't want me to offer this in this form, please tell me so and I will take the site offline asap. I did not find any hints about your fanpage policies and seeing the maps used on lots of other websites I thought it would be okay to use them too. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Xanathon... from the Sims modding world? /wave

I probably shouldn't say anything about that here, we'll both be flamed to a crisp.

Nice map!

Hi Srikandi, yes the same. Nice to meet you here.

Let them flame, they probably used my Star Trek themed objects in The Sims 2 anyway...

And thanks for the feedback.

Definitely!

It is somewhat time consuming to get the latitude and longitude coordinates for my mapscale, that's one reaseon that kept me from doing it already.

Nice basic map. What we really need is that map overload with one of the systems and searchable.
