WTF ? Rainbow coloured weapons ?????

ok just a quick question that has arowsed my spidey sence ive notices 1 or 2 people running around online in there ships with really wacked out weapons colours , like a guy with purple phaseres and torpedos then he changes them to Aqua and he told me its a command you enter in the chat bar , im not going to state it here becuse i dont want to promote that pesky "free will" besides i dont know if its legit to alter your weapon colour so i dont want to get blamed if its a exploit and you lot do it then get bann hammerd so ya

any one know the story behind this , is it a preorder bonus , or a in-game cheat/exploit or is it just a command cryptic left in there ???????

Polaron, tetryon and some other types of beams are in the game in those colors. It's not an exploit.

Theres a command in game that allows people to change em... Ive allrdy reported this as a bug... such a command has no place in a star trek game...

1: Its ruins the feel of weapon progression.
2: Its nullifies important tactics, cause people can no longer see what kind of people the enemy is using.
3: Pink Plasma?! un-canon.

I expect this command is simply a beta command that should've been removed... I sure hope It is, cause it has no place in a star trek.

i am aware of this i did consider the posabilties before posting this , but this guy was in a teir one ship a lower rank than i am at time of posting , however this player had changed all his weapons to fire in a set clour it wasnt just his beams his torpedoes and turret changed colour there dammage was not effected mearly there aprerance

1. There is no weapon progression in the way you think. Just because Plasma weapons, for example, are only available at level x and above, doesn't mean they are better. In fact, there are good reasons to stick with Phasers, for example, even at max level. the weapons are designed to do pretty much exactly the same damage, and just have different side-effects.

2. I still think that either we should get a way to costumize the weapon colors in the UI, or the command should be removed. Having this in as an obscure feature is just annoying. Either Cryptic wants us to be able to do this, then we should have color customization similar to CO, or they don't, then no one should be able to.
