Default Klingon content

Seems like good ole Dan kicked off Klingon month in STYLE!

First, let me apologize that info has been slow to get out. Believe it or not, December was supposed to "klingon" month. I have zero clue why it's Dec. 15th and still nothing, but I can tell you this WILL change (I just saw the threads yesterday).

Secondly, yes, Klingon gameplay is almost entirely PvP. We are trying to get some PvE in (there's already a tad bit). And, if the players demand it, we'll add more content (like episodes). I want us to be agile as a company and respond to what the customers want.

Third, I'll reiterate my point in the other thread. I'm most excited about playing a Klingon. I love combat in a bird of prey. Klingons are getting attention - from me. It's not as much as I'd want, but we have a foundation that we can grow into. If people like the federation gameplay, we can put that in for the Klingons. If players have a different set of requests for klingons, we can do that instead. We can make STO into the game that YOU want.

I'll close with that. MMORPG's aren't just about release. They're about community and the years of gameplay. Disappointed that there isn't more Klingon gameplay? Play STO, tell us what you'd like and we can deliver that. Every passing day, we can make STO into what the fans want.

Thumbs down Klingons- 2nd class players

EDIT- Klingons do have news now. We're getting no episodic content, no randomly generated content with genesis or any PVE at ALL. We are literally now only going to be there for the sole purpose of being blown up by the federation through monster play. We quite truly are now, 2nd class players because Cryptic will still take our money, but it's not worth as much or if anything. Good luck with getting people to actually play klingons for any length of time cryptic, because this decision is going to bring this game down.

This is really getting sad. 1 month from open beta and still not a peep about them. With all the super promoting cryptic is doing towards the federation it really makes you think if they're going to bother adding in Klingons at all or if they'l just be restricted to playing as an opposing force in instanced battlegrounds. One of the worst parts is that we have to rely on beta leaks in order to get any information about anything because cryptic still won't say anything.

Tribbles are getting more attention than Klingons are. It's already obvious from what cryptic has been saying that dollars from federation players are worth more than Klingon dollars because the klingons aren't worth more than pvp and instanced content. I'm starting to think Cryptic intends for klingons to be just more cannon fodder for the feds. They aren't even attempting in the least to try and lure players away to balance populations.

How long into the "PR cycle" do we have to wait? After release will we finally get some information about klingons? The population for klingons looks like it's going to be worse every day. We may be lucky to get 15% of the playerbase at this point. That is, if the faction actually exists. We have yet to see any evidence that it does.

Rekhan came on recently and said December now, as they stated before Nov OR Dec, and obviously Nov expired with nothing

given the likelyhood of them being off xmas-new years, its safe to guess they may give us some klingon booyeah in the next week or two

so heres hopin!

This probably would have been better to have been posted in one of the two active threads on this subject.

Klingons are going to have a major edge in PvP do to how they play. Keeo in mind most of their ships are going to be battle ready(odds are more then the feds) seeing as there is going to be more fighting then just flying around space people maybe jump over Klingons more then you think.

True be told I'm only a fed bc I like their ships. I like combat and i like to PvP as well but i'm not giving up my fav ships just to PvP sooner.

Search is your friend, as well as simply scrolling down to one of the half dozen identical threads on the front page at any given time.

Cool. I needed to read another thread about how the poor Klingons are going to get the shaft.

Actually, I disagree; it is far more likely that the Federation will have the edge in PvP mainly due to the fact that Federation players will have a wider variety of advancement options, and they should be able to reach the higher tier ships and equipment faster than Klingon players who are generally dependent upon having other players for their advancement. With multiple routes of advancement available to them (i.e. PvP and ample PvE), the Federation players should be able to keep their PvP skills honed while advancing into better ships faster.

Sure the Klingons will have PvP experience, but that only goes so far when your ship and equipment are far outclassed.

Also my fear. I would hope that they know that not all klingons thirst just for blood, we to explore be it in a more aggressive manner sometimes.
