What is your Favorate ship and why?

My favorite is the Galaxy-class starship. She was sleek, beautiful, and very powerful when called for. But, I prefer my configuration in my avatar.

Galaxy class for me as well...just...so...beautiful. That class...just so beautiful and elegant, and powerful. A ship that at once looks like an artists masterpiece, an explorer's dream come true, and the best friend of a determined warrior.

one of the ways us Trekkers get to know one another is to know each others favorite ships, everyone has one, and a specific reason as to why. It does not have to be one of the main ships like the enterprise (Constitution, Excelsior, Ambassador,Galaxy,Sovereign, or NX) but if it is then lets hear about it.

A question if I may: my favorite ship class, or just ship?

For ship class, that would be basically be the Prometheus-class. Large vessel, lots of firepower, able to separate into three parts -- two of which are computer controlled during battle.

For individual ship, one of my favorites was the Ba'Neth vessel seen in a ST: Voyager episode where Tuvok is zapped by a cloaked alien. It even had a spread in Star Trek: The Magazine (Sept. 2002)! Some article excerpts: "The small, fast vessels used by the Ba'Neth in 2376 were able to fire while cloaked, although they were more likely to flee if discovered." "A sophisticated veridium-based cloaking technology can render not only their starships invisible, but also individual members of their tentacled species." Isn't that just beyond cool??

However first prize goes to the USS_Dauntless. Yes I know it wasn't a real Federation ship, just a fake mockup by the neurotic Arturis. You need to admit that it is a beautiful design and it has curves, not like the rigid lines of so many Fed ships. I still don't know what happened after it was assimilated... did the Borg take it apart? Did the Collective gain the ability to disguise/shapeshift their ships??

My absolute favorite ship is the Defiant. I've seen it take a beating that would put most larger ships out of commission.

I've seen it take down a Romulan Warbird.

Non federation ships:

Klingon Bird of prey, small cloaks and with some nice upgrades could probably be the subsequent match for the Defiant.

An I also like many love the Romulan Warbird.

I like the unusual looking ships so I think I'd like the ship in the preview which has a ring shaped saucer with a line going through it. That and the ship with the sphere shaped saucer section. Everytime i see that one I want to be able to disconnect the saucer section and fire it at enemy ships. Is it wrong to want to use the crew space of your vessal as a weapon?

close to perfect cloaking device, and when it decloaks... it has an impressive size and the most deadly weaponry - excellent hit n run predator which is able to hunt down whole unprepared fleets

My favorite ship would have to be the Borg tacticle cube... mainly cos it takes an entire fleet and a whole lotta soiled underwear to take one down ^_^
