Default Mac Sucks

I've been using a mac for the last two weeks to make a music video for my TV and Cinema Technology Course. It seems like everyone has been crapping their pants over how awesome Macs are and I don't seem to see why the damn things are so rave worthy, the interface seems cumbersome and clunky.

HAHA, QFT man, but those are dangerous waters you're entering

Insulting the Mac OS isn't a disagreement with people who like a product; It's a disagreement with the Apple religion and it's basic commandments:

-It just works.

-Even when it doesn't work, it just works.

-Even though Apple has a support website to help you when it doesn't work, it just works.

-Spinning color wheels that hard lock the machine are NOT crashes, merely friendly reminders for you to take a break from computing... which happen ever 8 minutes...

-One button mice combined with an OS where drag-and-drop doesn't move files is the most efficient operating scheme possible. Don't question it, just accept it.

Now, most of us are just content to realize that it's not worth paying two to two and half times as much for the same machine that opens the same programs (though, far fewer of them), and are just content to work on a PC, even forgetting that Windows is a more function OS, but if someone is really convinced that Macs are better, don't cross them. Trust me, these people are dangerous

The pure agreement I have with this post is beyond all understanding.

While working with my digital media crap I've had macs crash on me far more times then windows. Actually out of all the computers I've worked with in the last few years I've NEVER had a windows crash on me while I've had several macs just decide to crash and destroy my work.

Macs do indeed suck. Plus they can't even play most games!

First off, let me say that I am not an Apple fanboy. In fact, if I have no particular needs, I am indifferent about which I use.

I have used Macs mostly at school. I have used PCs at school and at home.

No one type of OS is better than another. Each OS has good and bad parts.

Sure Apple makes (very) expensive computers, but if someone wants a Mac it is their choice.

Also, the vicious fanboy arguments go both ways. ;-)

I have to use Macs for work, have been for the last six months. I much prefer PCs. Much, much, much. I consider Macs overpriced and overrated. That being said they aren't all that different from PCs. I just get sick of hearing how much better they are because they aren't. I don't mind folks saying they like 'em better because what people like is their own business. But those "I'm a Mac" commercials are really just marketing BS. Then again, most commercials are.

It took me a week of work experience on a mac to figure out how to copy and paste an image without right clicking

The only reason to use a Mac these days is for the few unique software products they have. They used to have a LOT more. However Windows has been getting most of that covered.

Garageband is pretty sweet. It's easier to use than Windows alternatives like FL Studio.

I don't like these pointless updates

This is the UK advert for Windows 7 and seemingly the best new feature they could think of to put in an advert

Dude, DO NOT DISS THE SNAP FEATURE

Seriously, it seems like it's no big deal, but it's actually the best UI enhancement I've seen in an OS in years.

Combine that with the new taskbar (see here), and you have a more efficient means of multi-tasking with numerous windows than what any other OS has ever offered. To think, no more cascading...
