Why, you ask yourself, am I posting about Doctor Who in an SGU thread? Because I think the writers of SGU should go have a chat with the Doctor Who writers. Or better yet, fire the lot of the SGU writers and hire the Doctor Who writers. Imho, science fiction needs to be fun, somewhat intellectual, and invest you in the characters...you know kind of like Star Trek used to be, before JJ Abrams got his money grubbing paws on the franchise...
WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU! That was a terrible episode. Read my short take on it on the Doctor Who speical thread, probably a few pages back now

Waters of Mars was excellent as long as you are talking about empathetic drama and not paying attention to the 'ZOMG Water Zombies!' part of the script. As I grew older and watched more science fiction, I became able to appreciate admirable aspects of any given franchise and not comment on the negative portions. Doctor Who and Star Trek are the only two science fiction IP's that have engaged my emotions at all. SG-1, SGA, and now SGU just do not draw me into the characters for some odd reason...though SG-1 came close many times when they focused on the characters and not the Go'Auld or the Ori.

Interesting, could you find your thread and link it for me? I am terrible at forum searching

Just some thoughts it is near the bottom of the thread. I didn't really like the episode overall, and I thought that even David Tenant didn't pull it off properly
