I like the different weapons have different damage skills idea.
But the wording of the subsystems gives me pause.

Quote:

Leads me to think that "phasers" are a subsystem not "Dorsal Phasers" because you put "type XI" phasers into your ship as a whole.

Sooo... Legacy style damage system it seems.

Concerining "open PvP" and other forms of combat, sepcifically where territory can change hands:

1) In the NZ and other changeable areas, can my fleet simply attack the enemy and take their territory on our own, or is this going to have to be instanced or pre-ordained by the game in some other way? Basically, how is "open combat" initiated?

2) Besides the NZ, what other areas on the map are going to have changeable territory, either through PvP, PvE, or other means? Border regions, the unexplored areas, etc?

Question about NPC Ships:

1) Can you capture them in combat without having a specific mission to do so? I'm referring to both NPC ships belonging to the IP factions as well as ones belonging to factions made by the Genesis Project.

Many of these answers could have been deduced using common sense... of course subsystems will be targetable, of course there will be ship balance.. jeez

But thanks for the answers.

Maybe next time you can select questions that we in the community do not know the answers to, instead of following a set pattern of questions, such as Klingon/combat orientated...

In defense of the phasers and stuff possibly being linked into one system... you more often see on the show "weapons down" as in all weapons are offline rather than "forward phasers down" or whatever.

And I like that anyone can get any ship, solo or not.
