Default Kobayashi Maru Vol. 9

It's finally my turn to take control of the Kobayashi Maru! This week’s was submitted by Scruce. Good luck!

"You are a small cargo ship carrying important medical supplies to a plague stricken colony. The colony is four hours away when one of your escort cruisers is destroyed by a dominion ambush. The other escort cruiser destroyed the remaining Dominion ships but suffered a warp core breach. You are now the only ship in the area. The medical supplies MUST get to the colony but you don't have escorts. The way to the colony passes within Dominion space. There are no other ships in the sector. What do you do?"

Beam over the survivors of the last remaining escort, and head to the colony at maximum warp to deliver the supplies......RISK, is our business.

I would launch two shuttles. One of them, would have some supplies, the other would have more, and my ship, would hold the remaining. All three ships, would engage towards the destination on different courses, at maximum warp. That would increase my chances, the most.

I would start by imprinting a dominion signature on our ship so the scanners on their ships will see us as dominion forces (they will think we stole the ship from the Federation). After we get out of scanner range we remove the signature and head for the dying colony to save it.

Let's analyze the situation:

- One ship of my convoy has been destroyed
- One ship of my convoy is about to be destroyed, possibly crippling my ship
- The target destination is four hours away (with an intact ship), but the probability of succes without the two addtional ships is not convincing.
- Any distress-call send towards home will alert enemy forces to my location.

- I will assume my ship cannot carry survivors from the damaged ship
- I will assume I am in command of the battle group, although I am on the cargo-ship
- I will assume all enemy ships nearby have been deytroyed beyond salvage

The damaged ship, which is about to go boom, poses a clear and dangerous threat o my ship. I will order a release of the damaged warp-core, while we escape the blast-radius on full impulse.

With both ships rescued, I will leave the warp-less ship behind, while the freighter (minus unnecessary personnel, which is now on escort #2), heads to the target destination at full warp. the warp-signature, however, is masked as a jem-ha'dar-vessel to slow long-range-identification.

The escort left behind will wait a fixed period of time before sending out a distress-call to ther ships.

/alternatively

I pronounce the mission failed and return home.

Launch a shuttle with a 'Dominon distress signal' heading on an alternate course into dominion space -- in the hopes that the shuttle will attract attention, then lead the Dominion ships back to battle spot, serving as a diversion while I try to race to the colony before being intercepted.

Maybe see what I can do with some of the Dominion Debris to help the ruse.

I would first scan for survivors of the federation ships and beam any survivors on board, I would then scan the area for any type of natural phenomenon that will interfere with the Dominion sensors or block them, that would be my first course of action, and as a secondary effort I would try to alter the warp signiture of my ship to look like one of the dominion ships that attacked my escorts, with any luck I would be able to use both the natural phenomenon and the modified warp signiture to slip by the dominion troops and deliver the cargo, but just in case we did not make it I would lauch a log booey and make sure that starfleet knew what we where doing and what had happened. in this case you have to try or does people that died on does ships would have died for nothing. for HONOR!!!!!

Well 1st scan the area ahead to check for enemies ships, if it's all clear i would go at max speed to the conoly becaucse that is YOU'RE job, I would also divert power from reserves, weapons (not shields) and use it to keep going as quick as possible.

Also i would plan a route were i could mask my warp signature from long range scan as long as it wouldn't divert too much time to reach the conoly.

And lastly use sensor ghosts too divert dominion ships away from my little cargoship

Attempt to salvage an intact warp core from one of the destroyed vessels and install it on your escort that isn't destroyed. Also rig some dominion equipment to send out a distress signal after you leave.

Now you have an escort that can travel at probably a low warp, but still the enemy forces will be detracted by the distress call.

Press on; keeping well clear of any inhabited systems and detouring as much as is practical to keep my stay in Dominion space as short as possible. The colony won't be getting any supplies if my ship is destroyed; so better late than never.
