I am so excited about this game I can hardly stand it. Let me just tell you that I am a man and I think about this game just as much as I think about girls.. Just imagine that!!! For me that is something else. Well anyway if anyone at Cryptic reads this then please take note: Do not give up on this game, EVER.. PERIOD!! This will be bigger than stupid WOW. I am so excited I have to go pee now.

I am just as excited about this as I was about WoW and age of conan. I can't wait to play this game.

Since playing Star Wars: The Force Unleashed my excitement level has cooled of somewhat, but as soon as the game bores me I'm sure the excitement level will rise again!:D

on a scale of 1-10, about a -2 at this point. the super short 1.5 yr development time and several other descisions lead me to belive they have put no real thought or energy into this. I still have hope they're just feeding misinformation right now and may put out a real Star Trek MMO, but right now i'm not seeing it.

I've been playing City of Heroes for the most part of 4 years now, and it's clear that game wont be around for much longer. I played WOW for 6 months and liked it for all of maybe 2 months. STO is the only MMO out there right now thats in development that I have any interest in. I've been waiting for a Star Trek based MMO for a long time, and I'm very excited about it finally coming down the pike. I can only pray that this game will be the best MMO of all time and completely crush WOW in terms of popularity.

I am going to freeze myself and thaw myself out when the game releases, it's the only way I'll survive.

I also can't wait for this game, I was so excited when I first heard about it. What a game this will be... unlike anything we have seen.

Well, I've been waiting on STO since 2004, and I'm still pumped for it, so... I'm VERY excited!

I'm curious as to how that's clear? Multi-million dollar investments and it's not going to be around?

On topic, hell yeah. I've been looking for a decent sci-fi MMO for a while and although Tabula Rasa is currently filling that gap, it's not Star Trek.

Roll on next year!

I'm really excited about STO mostly because of the story. I love that their going into the future of Star Trek, into the 25th century. Though I am looking forward to a lot of the game features that have been announced like all the customization options, the fact that you can explore famous places from the show and totally new places, and several others.

I'm curious as to what else turns you away from the MMO, everything I've heard and seen so far has gotten me really excited.

I'm trying not to get over exited...
Thought holding the game in my hands and installing it would fell like showing a kilogram of lysergic acid diethylamide in my mouth... (not that I have tried any of that stuff :D)

If he is the same Falin as the one I knew from the old Perpetual forums, he and I have a similar outlook of the current game in development. I can only speak for myself, but although I am "excited" I am not nearly as hyped up or anticipatory of this game as I was 3 or 4 years ago. I'm a patient person, but now the hype is so far gone it will never return. And the "excitement" is more from the fact that someone was actually brave enough to bring the STO project back from the realm of purgatory in which it had been lost due to irresponsibility on the part of past companies.

Anyhow, yes, I await this game with the patience I have always had about most things in life, but no longer am I as eager to have it in my hands. Heck, I probably won't even bother posting my opinions on most of the topics here for the simple fact that most of what people are bringing up here are topics that have been talked about over and over and over and over again for the last 4 years I've been waiting for this game. So, although I will pop in occasionally to see what's up on the forums and see what the development crew has provided to us in terms of what their progress on the game's completion currently is, I'll certainly be less enthusiastic than most posters who have probably JUST heard about this game being in development when it changed hands to Cryptic Studios.

I agree with everything you said there, but for some reason I can't pry my eyes away from this forum. :P

I'd still like to know what Falin was talking about, though... specifically why he feels they have put no real thought or energy into this.

I've never seen him offer explanations. Just the random complaining about STO post.

I'm personally at level 10. I had loosely followed this games development when PE had the IP. And I'm almost happy they dropped it, allowing cryptic to come in and give it their all. I like their concept on creating games "If it isn't fun, and we don't enjoy it, we don't release it." And they have been wanting to do a Star Trek MMO from the beginning.

I think they'll do a great job. I'll have a shiny new computer by then, I look forward to enjoying STO on it, and hopefully on my 360 as well. :)

IM SO EXITED.

AND I JUST CANT HIDE IT.

IM ABOUT TO LOOSE CONTROL AND I THINK I LIKE IT!

yeah... thats how exited I am.

Although its KILLING me not knowing roughly when its going to be released, is it 3 years? 1 year? ahhh!!

But still, this is going to be such a good game if the make every part of it meaningful.

Search for "release date" in the forums. You'll find some pretty well informed speculation, that has been all but confirmed by Game Informer's article that has been advertised on the STO site by Cryptic, themselves.

I have been excited ever since the game was announced as being in development from Perpetual Entertainment, and I only get more excited as the release date becomes closer and closer. I cannot wait for Star Trek Online!

I would be much more thrilled if I didn't see the same threads re-created every day I log on to the forums. But I always love space craft so I'll be playing no matter what. The IKS Trogdor will find you.

Im really looking forward to this game. The concept is good, Cryptic knows what they do and the community is perfect.
I remember when Star Trek Legacy was released and I thought: What is this s*** game? But the company behind that just wanted to get fast money and what I saw by now this wont happen here :)

Go Cryptic, we wait :D

Uhm, I'm semi excited but more so curious about a star trek game that is being made by a company who made its mark combining customizeable superheros into mmo's. I find that interesting and odd at the same time. so yea

STO is a must own.
I'm checking the site and the forums almost daily. I haven't done anything like that since SWG 2003.
