I know this was heavily discussed before when this was at perpetual and probobly was heavily discussed here but I am wondering which will be in the game. The endgame version or a more advanced version of what is on the Defiant. Any help would be appreciated.

well you start with paper ships, work up to wood, then metal, then super armor:p

no really, i wonder to, maybe the armor is even stronger than ablative Armour, that would be cool, or maybe they just have super shields

Funny, I get that Endgame was powerful, but remember that this is now the 25th Century. More powerful weapons I'm guessing.

They do seem to do that a lot. I mean before the borg showed up they where pretty lazy. Hell, if you need proof of how lazy they can be they were still useing Excelsior and Miranda classes as the back bone of the fleet well into the 2370's despite the Borg and Dominion threat.

How is that lazy?

They honestly couldn't build ships fast enough for that threat.
Why wouldn't they use their old ones which still work?

Well I think I heard about some ridiculous personal sheild concept, but I think that armor regulations should change in future, future, so that it would be very customizable. I would like to rock that amour the morn wears.

I think that ablative armor would be a great addition to the game as long as it was implemented correctly.

Well since Ablative armor (stolen or mimiced from what borg? Most borg cubes have it and well after Data sent cube into sleep pieces of the cube should have given the fedreation this tech) is just a coating that allows for controlled damage for xx cm/inches whatever.

In short since it is just a extra layer of hull designed to burn with incoming fire (phaser etc.) it only acts as a delayed damage to the main hull, a section can only take so much hit before the ablative armor is gone and thus your hull is exposed and the only way to get it back is to replace that section of the hull.

Since Defiant/whatever those other ships where called in VOY had integrated into the main hull it suggest that once spent you need to head a star dock to replace it.

However if added like current reactive armor ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reactive_armour )
you just need to use use a replicator and send some crewmen out there with new interchangable plates or something, either way i dont se a problem adding it since it was "new" 3-4 years after VOY got lost i would think every starship have it 30 years later.
Even the transport tugs have probably have it added as it is a cheap insurance once you know how to apply the technology.
