I was thinking about some of the pros and cons of Eve Online which is one of the games i play right now... and one of the pros was if you get good enough at it, you can buy game time cards to pay for your game with the money you get within the game. and i was thinking it might be a good idea for STO as well.

just a suggestion, feel free to shoot it down if you dont like it but i personally would be greatful if there was ever a month i could not pay the scription fee for whatever reason, i could buy a month of game time for game currency.

I don't see how it would benefit cryptic except in customer loyalty.

While I like the idea. It sounds to me that it could be to easily exploited.

I think a safter bet for them would be to have customer appreciation days where they give out free months of service.

But maybe there is more to it than I think. Like maybe there isn't that many ppl that would make the effort to pay the large amount of money it would cost to get their month for free. Maybe in their minds theyr game money has more value buying items than paying the subscription?!

I can see this. Man I've been saving up for this item in game forever, Do I buy the in game item or get a free month and work on saving up again? hmm...

maybe it's an indirect way of taking care of gold farmers. by letting them think they are saving money by not paying their subcription. hmm who knows. lol it's pretty strange mechanic if you ask me.

I agree with Orab lbo, a feature like this would definitely get exploited with all the gold farmers that every MMO is burdened with.

All I got to say is wow they really do that? I'd agree to it but only if it was an INSANE amount. A way to get rid of excess "gold". Perhaps something that would take 6 months - 1 year to get.
