Ever since I first saw this episode I always wonder where the singal was sent and when the plot would be expanded.

With the STO team talking about ancient enemy, any one else hope they explore this plot line that ended with this episode.

Please talk about it.....

Actually it was explained. Those bugs are what eventually the Borg evolved out of. I've been to several conventions that some of the execs have said they wish they could undo that episode completely, since it left an untied loose end, though that wasn't the exact wording used hehe. It would be itneresting in STO to see something about it, but I wouldn't expect too much.

Actually Sliverspar, that was their concept that they were spies for the Borg, but that connection was never established, so it's an open book.

But in the Unity Novel, the Neural Parasites made their return in 2376, after the Dominion War.

And in Worlds of Star Trek: DS9 Volume 2, it was written that they were a type of Trill Symbionts.

So if the Devs incorporate them into STO, we should encounter them. Especially around Trill.

I understand the part about the borg, but since they decided to make the borg a reg. cyborg instead it leaves open the idea of another enemy.

Remember in Enterprise they explained kind of why the Borg keep going after Earth. With what happen in First Contact, Borg frozen in 21 Cent. wake up in the 22nd Cent. send becon to delta, mixed with running into the enterprise D in the 24th make the Borg say we have to take care of these damn Humans, lol.

I would really like to see these aliens explored from this esipode jus tto add a another enemy so we dont always have to see the Federation fighting the same Enemies over and over again.

My Fav race are the Trill, I really havnt read any star trek book since I was younger in like the mid 90s. That book was about Picard, data, and wesley being stuck on the Holodeck while doing training for wesley and the holodeck messes up. The 3 of them get stuck on the Holodeck after thinking they got off it (like an Espisode of TNG), which I found out when the computer still thought Wesley was the captain and Picard was an Ensign. If I remember there was like a creature trying to kill them too.
