Since Cryptic has both licences , can we expect to see the future Rikti invading the Alpha quadrant ?

Slim, I would say, but thank you for your concern. Have a popsicle...

Cryptic only have the ST:O license. NCSoft are the proud owners of CoX (since November).

Regardless...I believe since Paramount still owns the Franchise, that anything such as merging two universes of ideas would be very difficult to implement without some serious legal rammifications.

i'd say the chances of that happening are the exact same as me canceling my subscription in the event that it did happen ;)

you are correct. even though cryptic may be developing STO, they do now own the source material and can only do with it what they are given persmission to do from the owners.

I would expect to see passing references perhaps to other properties, since that as well has been a tradition not only in Star trek on screens big and small, but in MMO's as well. In NPC names, basic map and room designs or the items decorating rooms.

Mike Okuda was well known for placing references like this on LCARS display screens and in text on door labels.

Hmmm...this sounds like a whole new category on the geekipedia (http://www.stogeek.com)!
