View Full Version : PvP Must Have Closure

The thing about PvP in WoW that leaves a bad taste in my mouth is that 'rubber-band' feeling tot he PvP there. You keep fighting the same people over and over until the battleground is over or you quit queueing arena matches. Something needs to make the losing side suffer a loss and move on.

I'm not saying they can't rejoin the fight, not at all. I'm just saying that they shouldn't be able to rejoin the fight indefinitely in the biggest and baddest ship if they have graduated to them.

ie: If I get enough prestige/latinum/experience to captain the biggest and baddest battleship, I shouldn't be able to pick up a new one with no real penalties, after wrecking my last one. I shouldn't be dropped to zero again, either.

I'd suggest a loss of some standing that would temporarily impair you from launching with your biggest and best again. ie: I have 100 points and can fly a sovereign. I get it blowed up... maybe I'm dropped to 90/100 points. Those points go up at a certain rate, back up to my maximum. I could fly an akira or galaxy class right now, or wait a few minutes and I'll be able to launch a sovereign again. If I launch, rejoin the fight and lose ship after ship, eventually I'd only be able to launch in the smallest of combat craft.

On the other hand, if I had 100 points and took a mid-sized Defiant class... say it's only a 50 point ship. If I lost it, i might only drop down to 95/100 and be able to launch with another defiant class right away, over and over until I dropped below 50/100.

Just a thought. I just despise rubber-band neverending PvP. Please. Closure.

Permadeath would work REAL good.

But we know that's not gonna happen.

Seriously though, I like the concept. PvP should have some sort of factional price. Who knows what that is.

Personally, I find it hard to call wow's mess pvp. It was a horrible design from the ground up.

This might be good for organized PvP matches, but for unscheduled, impromptu skirmishes, it could lead to a very short, one-sided fight.

Either way, as someone already mentioned, this is probably a discussion best suited for the official PvP discussion thread.
