I hope they do, I sort of don't like gold pressed latinum being the only money we know for sure, other than the briefest mentions of Fdederation credits and other allusions to Federation money. I think they should use blood.:D The more blood you can give in a given the day, the more you can get, that way buying things is a measure of constitution.:D

yeah i can see gold-pressed latinum being the more common form of currency mainly within the Klingon empire

Klingon currency is the Darsek.
That's not nearly as fun as having to literally bleed yourself dry to buy a new hovercar.:p

I always imagined the Klingon currency was in ther form of the beating hearts of their enemies.

Hmmm.... this is something I hadn't thought of... I'd imagine that it would be a universal form of currency. Maybe there would be a neutral station where goods could be traded between factions. Hypothetical, and maybe there are issues with this that I just don't see... so don't rip me apart too badly.

For the sake of consistency, I think that the Klingon Empire will use the same currency as the United Federation of Planets or else trade between players of both factions might become somewhat difficult.

Which of course begs the question, will there in fact be trade between the factions?

I could see an honor based system set up similiar to how PE was talking about the old form of currency for the Feds.

It doesn't make sense for the United Federation of Planets and the Klingon Empire to have the same currency any more than it makes sense for the United States of America and the British Empire to have the same currency (Although it sure seems like we're headed that way). I imagine Feds will have the credit and Klingons will have the (Klingon word for credit).

I think it all depends on what kind of depth they want the economy to have.

If they want players that have a taste for the economic/trade side of things in MMOGs to be able to do their thing then I'd say having a standard currency is the best way to go. Then taking that further, having a neutral third party NPC faction to facilitate trade between the two.

Having said that though, it wouldn't necessarily mean that they had to use that same standard currency within each faction.

Look this currency debate is kinda stupid. The easiest thing to do is make it Gold-Pressed Latnuim and be done with it. The federartion obviously pays their people with it or how else would the crew of DS9 be able to go to Quark's.
