Do you guys think that the Q will factor into the game somehow? A member of the continuum showing up on the bridge and causing chaos would be awesome.

honestly i do see the "Q" being a factor in the game ... but not as an npc... but as a "GM" and maybe a npc "Q" as starter guide. so instead of perma death before level 10 he res you etc

a Q would be the perfect avatar for a GM and/or techsupport o_O

Yeah i think that's a good guess....maybe not rez you, but being a gm would be a good idea.

Since "Q" was present throughought the TNG-VOY timeframe, and usually did his part to belittle and (occasionally) educate the crews of the various places, wouldn't he be ideal for the tutorial phase? Or, for those hard-to-validate plot changes, a-la Borg, couldn't "Q" be used to explain how some random things happen in the continuity of the story?

well you might want to use the search function :) as it has been discussed ALOT of times heh

and from the last i heard people would prefer them to be the in-game GM's as it would suit them best but if they are NPC's they shouldent be as common as planets

Q with klingons:

"Hello there, single minded lobster wearing byproducts of genetic faildom."

"Hurr! Woof! GAR!"

"Now now, calm down little one. Or else i have to send you to the slave pits of Orion Prime!"

"Garghl! Yell! Gulp!"

"You realy are not the witty type, aren't you?"

Nah sorry guys. Basic training is supposed to happen in the Academy. You can't expect q to show up to tell you how to command a starship.

Except Cryptic is on record emphatically stating there would be no perma-death.

I expect Q to use the penalty-box for those that get out of line.. and you know what that means...

I really hope that the in-game support staff are members of the Q-Continuum, but it would also be interesting to see Q show up in some of the missions.

There was more than one Q. The entire continuum was called Q. The GMs could be represented by Q, doesn't mean there won't be a few rogue Q who either try to teach lessons like John DeLancie's character, or tend to cause mischief and mayhem or just be an introductory guide, though I doubt it would be a Q if not just more of a Starfleet and Klingon cadet training simulator. Be interesting to have to take the Kobiashi Meru test.

Anyways, I think for big things, Q would probably be used to introduce a threat, say, like how the Federation was thrown into the Borg. Q's whole point with doing that, though mischievous to us, was actually to show and prepare the Federation since the Borg is suspected to have been infiltrating the fringe sectors since as early as the 23rd century.
