Okay so i did a search, checked the first 10 pages and found nothing so lets go with this:

How should it be done ?

I would like to see it somewhat like a 'creature creator' in spore, albeit not as monsterous.

I do not want it to be limited to human features or trek core races (in other words, you can give it a romulans ears and mix in some klingon, then give it human eyes...etc etc)

I would like it to have selectable, bits from all the races in trek, plus from the majority of earth critters (foxs, cheetahs, lions, tigers, lizards, snakes?)

I would like to see the inclusion of numerous things such as:

Multiple addons such as: Tails, Horns, Ears, extra limbs, etc etc.

Skin should be multi-choice: Human, Scales, Fur, Rock, Bark, Plant, etc etc etc. (All able to be colored too..)

For example: If i want to create a race which has fox ears and tail, but is otherwise human...will i be able to ?

Or will i have to just stick with a purple colored human and pretend its a new race.

Furthermore how will gender be effected ? and instances: If we create a new race, do we get crewmembers from it ?

Will we be stuck with just 'males' in stereotypes, or will we be able ot have females ?

When creating, do we get to choose such things as mating habits (Haha, i HAD to do that. Anyone who's seen the episodes with harry and the klingongs mating ritual will understand what i mean ;) )

And the appearence of males oppposed to females ?

Write bios on them, their history, where they live ?

Heck, will they get a planet somewhere in the galaxy for us to explore too ? :)

So many questions...

I do hope the custom race is available at launch.

Alot of people speculated a kitbash of the races individual parts. I'm putting my bet on something like that, combined with a customizable 3D mesh. That would allow you a bit of texturing options, like an interface to create an old school "skin" - I can dream, can't I ?

I am also very interested to see how the custom races are implemented in-game; that being said, hopefully the developers will be able to provide as much customization as possible to ensure that players do not create a number of races that look identical yet are named different and have different characteristics.
