I think it would be cool not only to have holodecks on ships, but to have players be able to program them!

here should be 3 types of programs:

-Holo-novels/plays: non interactive stories acted out by holo-NPCs. Default programs should be: operas, Shakespeare plays) OR interactive stories played out by players and possibly holo-NPCs. (e.g. captain Proton). a possibly useful source for Machinimas.
-Holo-games simple interactive minigames (e.g. phaser range, soccer, football, baseball)

anyone got any other suggestions?
anyone think this is a good idea (or a bad one)? go ahead and comment!

It's an interesting idea... I wouldn't mind seeing it in the game. Yet I think it would work best if they waited and added it in later in the games life.

And maybe we could see some classic Holodeck programs like Dixion Hill or Captain Proton.

The subject of holodecks has already been discussed quite a bit, but rightfully so; after all, there is quite a bit that can be done with holodecks, including the ideas you posted. That being said, we don't know anything about how holodecks will function in the game, but I am hoping they eventually include something similar to your ideas!

I'd like to see historic missoins playable on holodecks onboard starbases or in starfleet HQ that lets you take command of verious ships in historic battles like Kirk vs Kahn or the origenal enterprise vs the Romulan bird of prey in "The Balance of Terror"
Also, the Kobiashi Maru would be sweet.
