Wondering if anyone know if you would just be able to cruise around and do exploration like on the movies then from ur exploration turn into a problem to be solved. Compared to go to a npc who then tells you drive here kill that guy then drive back.

Are the two mutually exclusive?

SWG had both, as well as detailed story arcs. There were also unique sites on some of the planets that had absolutely no worth game-wise (for missions/quests/xp etc.) but were fascinating discoveries. I'm thinking particualrely of the Gungan temple ruins on Naboo. On Kettemoor they designed a player city around them.

I would hope they have similiar things here.

Well Star Trek is all about missions, that's all they do. So you'll probably have more freedom than Star Fleet does in the series, be able to just go out and explore the universe on a whim. But you'll have quests to complete to level up or whatever.

I think that the game will probably incorporate a mix of both of these options and it will be up to the player to decide which they prefer.

Anythinbg in Federation space be easy to do and complete, then there some you must do before others, I imagine the stronger you are the further away it will be to do these
