There is a part 3 to midnight avengers interview. While not greatly shot and the audio isn't great, it does have nice information. I would love to have a transcript of those interviews as well because I can't understand half of the questions asked. A Big thanks to Jack as well, he must be getting sick of all these questions. There will be a Beta at some point. No information has been released as to when. Your best bet is to make sure you are signed up for the newsletter (it's in User CP at the top) as when the announcement goes out, you can be sure there will be lots of fanfare about it.

On a serious note, it never occured to me you were a female so please forgive me if I insulted you. I would send any crewman to clean the intakes regardless of race, creed, sex (or lack of) and natural origin.

I'd rather someone speak up if they think something is amiss than not say anything and we all miss out on something important, so thank you for your effort.

Does anyone else think that Cryptic/Paramount/Lord-Knows-Who-Else should coordinate (or at least promote) release-date functions? Obviously, a massive (and studio funded...Paramount, not Cryptic...hint-hint) release party, with cast appearances and whatnot would be awesome; but hardly likely.

Instead, what about a midnight release party outside a national/international retail chain. I'm not asking for much; only that people who pre-order the game be treated to something cool. A ship model, a stuffed-shatner (not a Kirk doll, someone actually going out and stuffing "The Shat", so we don't have to see any more Priceline commercials...), hot dogs and burgers, prize raffle...hell, I'll settle for free hot-chocolate and/or soft-drinks while waiting in the absurdly-long line at midnight.

Let's not kid ourselves; the development people are Cryptic are busting their behinds to make a great quality game for us. I hope they come through, make the best MMO ever, and tussle the hair of the kids over at blizz as STO goes way past four million subscribers, and onwards to greatness.

But as with all things, we need to remember, this is a business. Somewhere, burried in a cold, cramped basement office with a beat-up desk, plastic lawn chair, and a single, solitary 40 watt bulb to provide both light and heat; throbs the soulless, evil heart of the person in charge of marketing for Paramount (let's not BS it...that person is likely reading this on a holographic display, while sipping on a ten-thousand dollar glass of champaign, handed to him/her/it by a personal butler, while dropping a deuce into a twenty-four carat gold toilet bowl). This game's success, or failure, could be the tilting point on the scales of "is it currently good business to:

1) HIRE COMPETENT SCI-FI WRITERS (Timmothy Zahn, Brian Herbert, Michael J. Strazinski, ect.)

2) Provide acceptable production capital (see: way the hell beyond "Stargate: too many spinoffs" or "Battlestar Not Quite Sure Where Our Plot Is Going")

3) Follow the most effective rule of business ever created: Give the people what they want.

I'm not saying that's the way things are. I'm saying it's good business. Based on our reaction to STO, and the amount of cash it generates, this could be what pulls Star Trek out of it's television banishment, and back into our prime-time hearts. After all, what would we rather watch: " The Paris Hilton 'look at me, I'm freakin' stupid' reality hour", or some darned good Trek.

It's unknown at this time what types of missions that we'll be on, but I'll speculate that we'll probably see a mission exactly like the above at one point or another. :)
