just having two thoughts about STO

I don't know if these topics have been brought up earlyer but I am going to write them anyway

1. I am woundering if cryptic studios will do the whole ship so that players can explore them from the bow to the stearn.

2. I am woundering if STO will support dual screen mode in the game where you have like the helm on one screen and the viewports on the ship on the other one.

I, two, would be interested in learning about movement INSIDE the ship and if there is much interaction between realplayers inside said ship.

Jack has mentioned specific portions of your ship and decks, but as to whether the entire ship will be rendered, probably not. You will need to be able to go to your quarters, but as to whether you will ba able to go to 3rd Engineer's Mate Wells' quarters? Probably not. :)

Unknown at this time, but not unlikely.

Heh, me too. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see it myself. She's my favorite ship by a mile. :)

I always preferred the Intrepid's inner colors then the Galaxies, the nice grays and blues are easier on the eyes then the tans and yellows. Just gives it the slick, new car look. Only bigger.

Agreed, the exception being Janeway's ready room. That teal green always makes me want to gag.

I like to draw and design ship. so I wounder is there any place where you can submit ship design idées or who I should talk to about this? if i am able to submit a ship design idée I would like to submit this ship design I just finisht the exteriur on.

I don't think the developers are able to look at player-made designs for legal reasons, but it might be a good idea for a content or something like that as the game gets closer to launch!

Look at your "new ship against a picture of an intrepid class from the same angle. Apart from new curves and some extra tricks its the same old mutt we saw for about 6 years.

Don't get me wrong, I love the intrepid class. but your idea could have been a bit more original. (PS this is an intrepid type design with some prometheus upgrades.) Nice work anyway

As much as I would like to see this, I fear it will never happen. Ship bluprints NEVER match what is actually seen on screen and considered canon.

People have tried to make blueprints and designs of ships that try to fit the canon, but you can always find someone that will say something like "In episode 14 of TOS, Kirk only went down three decks in a Jeffries tube to reach Scotty in Main Engineering. Your schematic is WAY OFF!"

It is much too late at this point to try fitting facts into the 1960's canon. (When did Klingons evolve forehead ridges?) The only way I could foresee fullscale 3-d ship rendering is if the IP owner (Paramount) decides to create a whole new canon-based series on a timeline even further in the future, "The Nextgen X-Generation" with minutia and details plotted out way before production ever starts.

I know what you mean about my ship design that it is mutch like the intrepid class. still I tried to not go for a ship design that was to mutch like the intrepid since it is my favourit ship design. but some how i ended up on that any way. still I have drawn one more ship design before this ship. and that is no copy of any ship design what I know of. this ship design project I called avalon class and it looks like this

the main STO page has a link for Cryptic Studios and the fact that they are hiring, send a message asking them thru there. Hell, even if they don't pay ya it would kick &@@ to see a ship that I designed used in the game. give it a try.:D
