I think it would be cool if you could rescue crew from ships that are about to be destroyed. Say that a large warship in a nearby sector sends a distress call, it would be cool if you could show up in your small, speedy scout-ship and beam some of the crew out, even if you can't take out whoever is pummeling them. This would be more feasible from the "generic" crew rather than the "bridge" crew, since the generic crew sounds mostly like an abstraction.

The crew could either be added to your compliment or returned to a starbase for XP/prestige/whatever.

Indeed, this would be a cool non-combat adidtion to the game.

I was also thinking that it would go well w/ the "Medical" field specialization. You could return them to Starfleet in better condition than you found them :-)

This is definitely an interesting idea and it would surely add variety to the game. I hope something like it gets implemented in the game eventually!

I would also have to agree with everyone, this would be neat. I for one LOVE being in the Medical Field in games and I wouldn't mind doing stuff like this in game. (It'd be great if it were for Medical officers!) That's a great idea and I'd just love to see that hit the final version of the game ;) It'd also give a reason to not have so many player deaths.
