If I were them, I'd be playing the game if I wasn't working on it. On breaks and off hours even.
But I'm crazy like that :)

In this case, I am thinking that a lack of developer posts means that they are actually working on the game as much as they can, which is fine by me!

Im sure they are about.. but as to whether they are paying any attention or if so where.. who can say.
I do know Jack hasnt responded to the PM I sent a week ago, obviously he's busy but I think the least most people would expect is a brief "sorry its too early to say" or a "we arent far enough along to release details on that yet" kind response as opposed to just nothing... but then thats me and I believe in good manners wherever possible (yes i am a birtish stereotype).
Still so long as they are working on the games its all good and easily forgiven.. plus as I recall Jack is pretty involved with Champions Online too so he and the other Devs are probably working one one game when they arent on the other...busy busy.

yeah my PMs have gone unanswered as well so I'm just hoping they are keeping busy and looking at responding to things only if needed.

Id just like them to make a response on some of the hot topc threads even if its only "we dont know yet"

You do realize that they probably ignore 90% of the PMs they get, right? They'd be very depressed, frustrated and uninspired if they read every PM they got from people trying to be armchair developers. Don't take it personal. I am sure they scan through the forums to see what people are saying but PMing a Dev with your ideas is actually considered rude in the gaming community.

That seems a bit pointed and also assumes that my PMs and others are filled with ideas on how they should make a game. That's not the case unfortunately, but I see how that would be annoying.

I apologize if it was pointed but I feel bad for the Developers having to put up with the people PMing them 20 page essays on "Why Interphasic Scanners Are Better than Tricorders for Interphasic Phenomena." If you just look at some of the posts on these boards where people think that it is urgent for the Devs to include Otar II before even designing Epsilon Hydra VII.
It just remains in the gaming community that you don't PM Developers with your ideas. If you have an idea, first search and see if it has been discussed already. If it has not, post it in a thread with a nice title that gets to the point. (Nothing like, "URGENT! ZOMGBBQWTF DEVS READ!") And lay out what you think should be included but remember that other people will pick your idea apart and that helps the devs make the game even better.

The boards are a big spastic ball of redundant spam right now...once they calm down a bit, and it would actually be worthwhile for a Dev to post, Im sure they will. They are regular posters on the Champions Online boards, but they waited for those to calm down a bit too.
For a regular stream of answers on game issues, you'll have to wait for the regular "Ask Cryptic" feature, which they are pretty good about posting periodically. Random Dev answers to questions would just be lost in all the posts on toilets on Starships, mandatory food consumption, and playable bartenders.

Yup for now it'll just be I guess more Question's being asked to newcomers, more suggestions (which is great gives us something to talk about), and spam, which hasn't been to bad actually.

I’ve been wondering about this too. The Champions online forum has developer run polls, a Q&A section and just feels a bit more watched over.
This forum feels just kind of like the inmates are running the asylum.
I guess CO being farther along in production it makes sense that they have more information to give out but at least throw together a poll.
Even just a decoy one they don’t plan to listen to could still serve to get a little focus among the rabble.

Hey if WE can scan past the "Why I wont play this game" and "why it id doomed to fail" threads SO can the Devs lol but all the whiney threads aside there are actually a lot of threads with good idea,s valid queries and concerns and some informative suggestions

Kind of Buged me that they locked the first one at 400 posts when they havent even answered (via the Las Vegas thing) more than about a dozen or so of the questions posted in the thread. We need more info lol :D

I suspect that has more to do with the fact that Champions online is significantly more imminent (and therefore a pressing concern) than STO at the moment.
Although that said, I am hoping we wont have to wait until the first quarter of next year for Champs to be released for Cryptic to start giving us some more details. I also hope the time line they have done starts appearing soon as i am very intrigued to see what they have done with the 30 year span they have chosen.

i think actualy game gevs only work 3 days a week. with lot's of cat naps and gaming. i think in total they do a solid 6 hours of work in any given week. assuming there is no holiday.

In the 25th Century, they recycle everything, so the first thing's answered ;)
We should eat like the people onboard the Enterprise did in the original series. Coloured marshmellow cubes :)
Bartending, a new way for captains of ships to both entertain and serve as Star Fleet's ambassador to the galaxy!
On a different note:
Anyways, it was mentioned by Jack Emmert that they are going to start to gradually ramp up info, including briefings of what changed since Star Trek: Nemesis to the starting time of the game.:) Also, there's still time to talk about character creation, customizatoin, skill advancement, starship combat, planetary combat, starshp customization, whether we can also have our own personal shuttles/captain's yahts(sp? I'm a bit tired :o), etc.
With all that Cryptic is doing, and this being the convention season, there's a lot of work being done both in the studio and beyond.

I agree 100% but that’s why a good decoy poll would work just fine.
They’ve already said that just about every (humanoid?) race will be available and if you don’t like the ones already out there you can make your own. Fair enough, question basically answered. But if Razor posted a poll saying “Hey what races do you want to see playable in the game?” You would see everyone jump all over it with their opinions on the Borg and non federation planets and non humanoids and blah blah blah. It wouldn’t really take any time or effort and it would makes people feel like they have some input in a decision that’s all ready been made (and even that fact would be brought up and debated) Also it would put all the Borg and Enterprise pre-federation races talk etc in to one thread instead of being all over the board in a hundred different threads... At least for a week or so, then they just post a new one.
I mean we all read the "FAQ", did it really provide anything new or helpful? Not particularly but it shows they're keeping in touch and it seemed to pacify people for a bit; or at least heard some of the talk in one direction for a while.

a new poll would be nice it doesnt evn have to be fake theres still plenty of things were arguing over they could poll us on

A real poll? I like it! That idea could just be crazy enough to work.
Damn that just makes my idea seem kind of cynical.
You know there’s now like 3 other posts on the first 2 pages asking pretty much the same questions here? Like why the repeated posts aren’t being merged.
