I will probably head out as far as I can to see whats around. Thats the first thing I want to do.

First thing I'm going to do is explore my ship and talk to my crew. Look at the controls of the game look at how skills are organised and have a good general play around. May then go mess my quarters up a bit and then head to the bridge and head out to the nearest Federation starbase and dock and then take a look around there. Thats will probably be the first hour in fact, depending on how travel is done.

Check out all the features available to me, first and foremost.
I'll probably fly around a bit, hopefully (and likely) zip around the Solar System. I think that will be an important milestone for me, to leave Utopia Planitia or wherever we start and feel like a great journey is beginning.
If I have some free time and access to most of Federation space, I'll want to check out Andoria early on (my captain will, obviously, be an Andorian.)
I guess it all depends on what's open to us, as beginning players, at the start of the game. I would probably be anxious to launch an away team, and I know I'll inspect the interior of my ship (however small it may be) inside and out. That will definitely be important... getting to know my ship.

I'll probably get lost and spend most of the day trying to figure out where the bridge is. The second day will probably be filled with figuring out how to leave spacedock.

I describe my first day after I created a Federation Star Fleet Officer.
1. I am confronted with the INTRO that tells me in short terms what happened the last 30 years and gives me a small clue about the present shape of the Alpha quadrant.
After watching the Intro three times I see my character in a gameplay cinematic, standing on a balcony of Star Fleet Academy and the gardener comes along, telling me that I do not need to be nervous about my first command.
2. Then the camera goes into Gameplay view with UI and I get a call from a captain to show up in the ready room of the Academy recruits ... a tutorial starts explaining me how I get my char there. (first mission)
3. In the ready room I get my first ship assignment on a small vessel and have to make a test as a commander of this vessel (first tutorial space mission)
Of course something is going wrong on this mission and with some cutscenes it will be a very exciting story how you leave academy.
After this you will see a cool celebration about having passed through academy and then you will get assigned to a bigger ship to serve there. This bigger ship is like a hub for many other players to make missions on the ship, with away teams and space combat with shuttles / runaboats. It could be a Galaxy Class with big shuttle bay for having shuttles available as your first ships.
And so you work your path through the missions onboard of this ship, combined with tutorials until you get your first mission where you can leave the ship and being totally on your own with your own vessel.
Of course you can always come back to this ship and help new players, because this ship is patrolling always in the same region as it is kind og newbie hub.
I think i am not that good in describing my imagination, but what is really important for me is a sort of star trek feeling from the very first beginning, sort of having the impression of playing a whole Star Trek television show with cool story in every single mission or tutorial. This is most important for me. If there is only a tutorial where a computer tells you which keys to use for which effects, without story ... bhaaaa!

I would probably spend the day going through every customization available ingame and making sure my ship and crew would be completely my own.
And then maybe fly into a black hole for my own amusement. :p

Go to Wal-Mart. Buy 50 dollar STO game. Drive home. Try to take off plastic wrap with bare hands. Fail at it for the next 10 minutes. Get pocket knife and take the plastic off, open the box, and pull out the insides.
Then i'd read the likely thick manual for the next 30 minutes or so, then turn on my computer, and see how many games i'd have to delete to fit the game on. Delete them, then install STO and continue reading the manual. After install, create account, and log in. Start Tutorial, before proceeding with tutorial instructions, i'd spend the next 20 minutes messing with the graphics settings trying to get them just right so it looks good yet runs good. Then i'd proceed with the tutorial.
Finish the tutorial, and proceed with a couple beginners missions to help propell me through the galaxy (I find that better than aimlessly traveling when i first get an MMO). After that, i'll probably check out all of the hubs/public hangouts and meet a couple people and share experiences. And then i'd log off. End First Day.

My first day, just like any normal child learning to walk, I'm going to test every form of ship and charcter collision....
First I will ram my ship into anything that I can - to see what effect it has. Then I will beam to the planet surface where I will run around touching everything and everyone.

After all that I'd play around a bit, do several missions and then go off duty and go to see Cochrane's statue and the Phoenix, see how they've colonized the moon (Lake Armstrong woo!) and check out Jupiter station (want to meet the Doc!). Then no doubt back to more missions.
Will be a wonderful day and no doubt take far too many screen shots.
I REALLY hope they have a log where along with an automatic record of any missions you undertake that you can log your own observations, discoveries and impressions, new people you meet, fun you've had, pc enemies you've made etc while you're on duty. Would be nice to look back on.

1st day for me will be giddy glee...
Anyways I expect to be in the StarFleet Academy 1st day doing the online tutorial.
Creating my charachter (Handsome Devil)
Paying attention in class.
Once out of the tutorial I will check out every operation of the ship, and head off for my 1st most excellent mission.
I normally play games for the sake of playing them. LOTR, AoC, Eve, etc...
This one is different for me. This one if done right could be a home for me for years to come.

:My first day will begin by learning as much as possible about my ships systems and gameplay. Then I will fly aroung Sol and maybe visit Vulcan and Andorra. Finally i remember an early episode of TNG where Picard tells Gordi who is at the helm to pick an area for them to go to at the end of an episode. Then Riker asks him why he picked it Gordi says he's never been there before. So I plan on telling my helmsman to fly to any random star then log out while in warp since the episodes usually ended with the Enterprise going to warp.
Thus completeing my first day, and hoping my helmsman didn't pick a black hole or star to fly into :D

Greetings.
First, I'd take a good look around. I will then examine my crew and attempt conversing with them.
I'll try to see what all features available for me with them.
Then I'll examine my environment and figure what possible interaction I have with it, as well.
Next, I'll walk around my craft for a while and explore it.
After of, I'll go through the mental check list and run diagnostics over everything I can (you check your car before you exit parking, no?).
Furthermore, I'll scan the nearby area and determine the closest planet, I'll have my navigations officer plot a course and we'll move in to an orbit course for a closer look.
If applicable, I'll attempt to beam down with my science and security officers, whereupon we'll explore the immediate surrounding.
If possible, we'll attempt to make contact with the locals and gather what intel. we can about them, the planet and any other planets nearby.
Once finished, we'll beam up and attempt to find another space vessel and interact with them.
At this point, if we can we'll contact starfleet or the klingon high council (likely starfleet) and seek an assignment. Once we've attended our duty detail, we'll dock with the nearest starbase for some R&R.
Commence day #2. Stardate XXXX.XX

My first day:
After loading up Star Trek Online and customising my character to look exactly like me, I'll spend alot of time in the tutorial, editing my keybinds, learning how every nook of the interface works
I doubt new players will immediately get a starship to command, however, no matter the size of my vessel, I will know every inch of it. It could mean the difference between life and death later
I will then browse the news, announcements, see what's going on in the Federation and outside it.
Then I will find a Starbase and explore it, meet new people, assemble a crew and interact
I will then boldy go where no man has gone before
Then my mum will yell at me for playing too long -_-

- Stumble across to my kitchen and toast a calzone
- Eat said calzone
- Wash my hair
- Put on deodorant
- Get dressed
- Clean teeth
- Curse as I get toothpaste on my tie
- Change said tie
- Take train to work
- Buy STO before getting to work
- Work until late, feeling grumpy yet excited, both negate eachother and feel neutral
- Grab a cheap meal and go home
- Buy tomorrow's breakfast and miscallaneous essentials
- Get home
- Open up door
- Enter apartment and curse as I trip over the bottom step
- Get nekkid
- Install STO and curse my laptop's lack of oomph
- Read manual. Disappointed that it is a thin black/white manual like most games nowadays, which lacks lots of necessary information
- Internet crashes
- Hurl abuse at laptop and try to reset internet without success
- Die a little inside and go to sleep
- Cannot sleep
- Wake up and watch some TV
- Annoyed that the TV shows are crap
- Go back to sleep

I wouldnt expect to go through character creation and wahlah! There is my ship and crew. I would like to go through a series of training missions of sort, I would like to have to earn my ship somehow. I would like to complete my course at the Academy and be transported to a DS facality where I can have a hand in the final designs of my new ship (maybe like a character creation), and be there for the christening ceremony. I would like to pick the uniforms of my crew and even my crew (assuming they will be NPC).
No there is much to do before I just pop onto my ship. Shooot let me put that first coat of wax on her. That's my baby girl we're talkin about!

The first thing Id wanna do is have a deep customizable character. Id wanna have race, gender, height weight appearance and everything. Uniform color choice and even uniform style. From there Id wanna choose my history such as my expertise and a secondary expertise, some hobbies and character traits and lastly a bio.
After that I really dont know exactly. I really dont wanna start on a shuttle. thats not even really a ship. But I can deal woith that for the beginning. Maybe we start at command training? Im not really sure.

So basically exactly what I did in Elite Force. :)
But I'll probably go into my shuttle do the missions and explore strange new worlds and seek out new civilizations. Or find out where Captain Picard is and beg him to give me the keys to the enterprise... :)

- I'll be online waiting and surfing for any last minute info. about STO, 4 hours prior to server-up, on launch day.
- The fridge will be well stocked and there'll be plenty of junk food on hand.
- The phone will be off the hook and the doors to my home locked.
- The pets will have double helpings of food and water laid out for them.
- The family and friends will be notified of my upcoming absence days ahead of time.
- The moment I get to login, view the opening cinematic, create my toon and enter the ST universe. I'll be in the midst of my first unadulterated "Trek-gasm".
- I'll continue to play until I feel like I'm about to collapse and lose consciousness.
- At this point, I'll grab 4-5 hours sleep, fire up the pc, take 15 minutes to check email and surf and then login again. Rinse and repeat, for as long as I can until RL interferes.

My first day, probably spend a bit of time deciding on my look, and first ship design, then from there spend a bit getting use to the interface and how it works. Then proceed to reading each and every contact story and getting involved. Then try to get the Fleet up and running as well as perhaps seeing if a few people want to try and RP a bit.
Of course the thought of to boldly go where no one has gone before will be in the back of my mind, but I generally take baby steps when I enter a new MMO :)

Myfirst day will probably go along the lines of creating a close as possible a Gorn character for the federation and A klingon charachter. I expect this to be a lengthy endavor and will probably get lost amid the character creator for some time. Eventually I should get to whatever they have for a tutorial. I would expect this to be some form of holo-deck situation covering both character interaction/combat and the basics on driving a Starship. I will probably start by playing the Klingon side of things. (Can't help it, just love the ship designs and Klingon attitudes.) I would expect a bit of exporeing to start (And probably finish with.) for the first day.
First thing I'm going to do is explore my ship and talk to my crew. Look at the controls of the game look at how skills are organised and have a good general play around. As the shuttlecraft Oak Ridge crossed Earth's daylight terminator, the forward viewscreen enlarged to show the newly refit U.S.S. Dixie NCC-71984-A. The Steamrunner's hull glistened in the faint light of distant Sol and Lieutenant Commander Syler was more excited than he could remember.
"She's your ship now," Admiral Brookes had stated. "The Dixie belongs to the only crew that could tolerate her. That means you, Syler, and that riff-raff you call a crew. We're not sending any other Command officers to you guys. It's your show."
The shuttle approached and the pilot, some Academy cadet getting in his Zero-G flight training, opened a hailing frequency. "Shuttlecraft Oak Ridge to U.S.S. Dixie. Requesting permission to dock."
"Oak Ridge, you are cleared to dock. Welcome home, Commander." It was the voice of Lieutenant Craft, the Dixie's Operations Officer and Syler's long-time romantic interest.
Minutes later, Syler stood on the deck of the shuttlebay, surveying the half-finished remodeling of the interior and smirked. Starfleet Command had insisted on putting the Dixie out to pasture early - and her crew out of their hair.
Around him, his longtime friends and crewmates looked anxious. They were the only crew he'd trust his Life with. That was the way they all were - moreso after the original Dixie had been destroyed over Sigma Praxima two years ago. Crewing that Dixie had been no particular picnic as she was finicky and, as some would say, cursed.
After the Dixie's crew had been rescued and returned to Earth, Starfleet had decided to give them another ship right off the bat. She wasn't a new ship by any stretch of the imagination. It was a mothballed Steamrunner built back during the Dominion War and left to rot out in the Boneyard. After a lengthy shakedown cruise plagued by mechanical failures, balking systems, and general disorder, they returned to Earth and more or less forced Starfleet to commission her as the Dixie-A, seeing as how she was just like her predecessor. Now, she was going to be allowed to fly free.
"What are we standing around for, people? We've got stuff to do."
Everyone smiled and followed Syler out of the shuttlebay and made for the turbolifts.
On the bridge, Syler made a beeline for the Secondary Engineering Console located to the starboard side of the viewscreen and checked out the Ship's status. All green across the board. Satisfied, he moved back up to the Captain's Chair and saluted the empty seat, as was tradition for the Dixie's crew.
"Captain Caitlyn Ryan, with your permission.."
A shiver ran down Syler's spine, almost as though the ghost of the Dixie's only TRUE captain were there with her loyal crew. He turned away from the Chair - noone was allowed to sit in it - and smiled down at Lieutenant Knipper.
"Megan. Set heading One-Eight-Nine Mark Two-Six-Two. Standby for a jump to Warp 6 on my mark."
Megan grinned, "One eight nine mark two six two. Aye, aye, Commander."
"Engage."
Megan stabbed down on the ENGAGE controls. The Dixie swung away from Earth and the deep thrum of her mighty Warp engines permeated the bones of everyone aboard. She began smoothly accelerating before lurching to a complete stop and all power suddenly went offline, casting the bridge into complete darkness.
Syler ran his right hand over his face, a genuine smile of joy creasing his lips.
"She's a Dixie, all right," the entire bridge crew said in unison.

I finally felt like my life was complete.
Then I realized I only had the Delta Flyer and said "WTF is this?" and didn't go to sleep until I got a Luna Class. I later died of caffeine overdose.
