We always hear about the Starfleet Museum and about the various ships that are in it.
I'd love to go through the NX-01 Ent, Ent A, Voyager, and others. I'd love to just explore these ships and see the history of Trek.
Perhaps this is up in Stardock, perhaps another ship is on the presidio of SFA. I don't know. JUST PUT THEM IN THERE!

Now how cool would that be, is CS put in the early ships as museum pieces, and we all could walk on each and every deck of those ships. Mesa thinks it would be a social happening place to be. :D

I agree, I think it would be a cool little addition. I wouldn't mind taking a tour of the NX-01. But as it would relate to the game I guess it wouldn't really serve a practical point unless you are really bored one day. Still a cool idea and I wouldn't mind seeing it in game.

I just love that idea. Walking around the Enterprise D....
Though they can easily implement that even without having to go to a museum. We have the holodeck. You should be able to somehow acquire the program, maybe through missions or through the economy system in the game (however it may look like)

Would take a massive amount of time and divert time from perfecting the game and adding actual gameplay elements.
Adding just the bridges however would be possible.

If some of those ship classes are in game, then it shouldn't be a huge leap to include them in a museum setting. I dunno about the whole ship, but I definitely think bridges and other key areas should be easy enough.

They already have us being able to go through our own ship, how hard would it be to skin a ship and put it in a space where we can go visit it?
Also, I don't recall the Ent D ever making it to the museum, being all blown up and all.
(I am just happy that I finally have a great idea)

Going through schematics and re-viewing every episode and every movie ever made in order to then bit by bit perfectly replicate all of the famous ships from those said series/movies? Quite a while.
But who needs a good crafting, mission or pvp system anyway?

I also don't think it should be a big problem nor will it be crazy time consuming. That is something that can be added with the first or second extension pack possibly.
But you bring up a good point with the Enterprise D....that's history. That is why I think the Holodeck would be a good alternative.

What other ships would we want to see?
The other reason I'd love the museum in spacedock is so I can swing by it on my way out. I'd RP for a second and make my crew look out their nearest porthole and salute the past.

You all know the ready room of Picard with the small ship models?
Why couldn't we just select what models we want in our ready room? That would be also cool.
For Klingons we have Klingon models and weapons hehe to put there

Love this idea. We know that Voyager is sitting on the grounds of starfleet command in the time when Janeway goes back in time to save voyager. I dont think it would be too hard to do either just use the interior versions of some already existing ship classes and modify them abit adding flavor and memorabilia from the ships shows/movies in them. Too bad we cant put the enterprise d in :(

This would be really cool! Of cause I doubt they could replicate entire ships, but some key areas such as the Bridge and Engineering would work. I'd love to walk around some replica of the original Enterprise as it looked in TOS.

I would love to see Voyager as a museum as stated in the Final episode. That would really make any sort of "tutorial/starfleet orientation" section at the beginning of the game truly immerse a player.

Seems to me it could easily be made into a point. You're in the museum one day, exploring, when someone steals something of extreme value and you have to get it back. Or Q shows up and transport you back in time to whatever ship you're looking at. Better yet, he puts you into the body of one of the crtew - including the chance to play as Porthos! Granted, the Q stuff might be a little harder to do, but it still would be fun, wouldn't it?

Why an expansion?
Maybe you are a Lt JG just out of training... you go up to Spacedock to get a feel for your toon... perhaps you are on a tour. You get taught some of the legacy of starfleet... maybe there is even a sequence where you enter the bridge and there are holograms of all of the officers there doing their normal duties... then maybe you have to help them in a situation... It would be perfect for a tutorial.
While "Voyager on the Presidio" is a good idea, remember the old "different time line" thing. Because Voyager made it home many years earlier, Voyager remained in service.... we don't know if it will end up there or not.

I'm not sure Voyager would end up a museum as was stated in the alternate future seen in "Endgame". Because Voyager made it back early, the ship was still technically "young" and could have seen many additional years of service. Also, in the books, Voyager ended up being commanded by Chakotay, who was promoted to Captain when Janeway became part of the Admiralty, which is good precedent for Voyager still being in service after it's return. And given that ships like Excelsior have seen 100 year service lifes, there is no reason to think Voyager couldn't do the same.

One of the reasons I'd like to play STO is to be able to go see the places I saw i nteh tv shows and films, so I would definitely love to be able to go on-board the ships from those shows/movies and check them out.

VERY. COOL. IDEA. :D
The early Enterprises would work well as "museum ships" because none of those classes are (we assume) are still in service. The Intrepid class I believe has been cited as a playable ship in this current time frame, so maybe not the Voyager.

Why have the ships from the old shows be in a museum, I'd rather be able to unlock (through a quest or series of events) data chips that would allow us to visit these older ships on the Holodeck where we might even be able to do a few classic missions from that ships past.
Imagine being able to enter the Holodeck and be able to relive the battle between the Enterprise and the Reliant from the movie Wrath of Kahn, or aboard a ship that was involved in the Battle of Wolf 359, or even on a Federation or Klingon ship in the battle to retake DS9 during the Dominion War!

I actually don't like the idea of having the classic ships as unlockables. They are historical vessels...They should be in a museum. They could be accessible through the Holodeck and you could wander around any ship.
A virtual museum.

I don't want this to be in a holodeck. I want to be able to fly up to it in my own shuttle and see everything for myself. I want to enjoy the true scope and scale of these things, here.

Which book/s is that? :)
From Memory Beta:
After returning to Earth, Captain Janeway was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral(Upper). Chakotay was then promoted to the rank of Captain, and given command of Voyager. Tom Paris, who was promoted two steps in rank to Lieutenant Commander. Paris was Chakotay's first choice to become Voyager's first officer, but was overruled by Starfleet. Commander Andrew Ellis was assigned to be first officer - but Ellis was soon revealed to be a renegade changeling. After that, Lt. Commander Paris was moved up to the position of first officer. Harry Kim - who was promoted to Lieutenant - became the new chief of security after the departure of Tuvok.
The book as I recall is "Spirit Walk, Book 1" called "Old Wounds" which features Capatin Chakotay in command of Voyager.

Hopefully a starfleet museum type feature would be implemented in an expansion pack or patch. Would be nice to be able to wander these old ships. Problem is the number of people going about it. Could prove to be an issue if there are 100 people trying to get on the original bridge of the Enterprise

You would not find remains of the Big D on Veridian III. Because Veridian III was a pre-warp planet, the Prime Directive would require Starfleet to remove all traces of the ship. This is somewhat backed up by the Shatnerverse novel "The Return" which takes place right after "Generations" and has removal and salvage teams working to clear the debris.

Yes, a museum is a good idea. NX1, Enteprise, first klingon K7 and Bird of Pray, First Gorn Starship etc etc etc. Adds a rich and deep background to disparate races. Maybe make one of each type into a central meeting hub for each race? Or just an interesting hangout.
BUT I want a Tholian Starship. Awesome stuff! Can I get one? PLEASE? Tholian Web - The Next Generation. Tie those Borg plonkers up!
