Please don't incorporate too many played out storylines... I have no problem with a few, just not tons.
Like a Klingon Civil War... seems to be too many of these in Trek lore as it is.
I am sure that we all can come up with tons of examples... No need to really list them. I just don't want to play Trek and it turns out to simply be a playable version of all the episodes that I have already seen.

There will almost certainly be a lot of things taken from the series, fans of the shows wonīt be satisfied if they canīt live out some of their favorite things.
I do however agree that they should avoid having the main events of the game be to much like what has gone before.

I know that Q will screw with us. That's a given.
I know that there will be some emergent warp core failure that I only have moments to correct...
I know that there will be random distress calls.
What I don't want is more Romulan defectors, Klingon Civil Wars (maybe except as the tutorial for them), some sort of Vulcan logic conflict, some alien infiltrating Starfleet Command, time travel (3 movies is enough),
Sure, a hint of some of those is fine, I just don't want them to essentially port every episode of TOS, TNG, DS9, VOY, and ENT that I have ever seen.

Yup, let's leave the borg out of this mess, they're overplayed as well.

I think we can expect to see some of the "overplayed" elements from the television shows and movies, but I think it will not seem as repetitive because it will be mixed with new content.

While we at it lets not visit the temporal cold war story line.
Lets keep it as it never even happen and the writers were dunk the day they wrote it along with the person who approved it.

^^^
then again, we did get a small glimpse of the Enterprise J .....
I'd just want to put my backing behind this.
There are many Star Trek games, most storylines do indeed have a secret Romulan plot behind the Klingon/Federation war. I'm afraid the storylines do become highly predictable.
A Borg invasion and a secret "super-borg weapon" is also a common storyline, I would really be glad if Cryptic could broaden their horizons with an array of non-combat science missions and escalation, rather than a secret military plot.

Well considering the fact that the game is supposed to take place 30 years after the last Star Trek series, I'd find it strange for the developers to re-run storylines. Although the team might start adding Worm Holes to famous episodes if subscriptions are low.

I completely disagree. Too many times ST writers run out of ideas and go back to the old Time Travel well.
Klingon in-fighting was seen in TNG, DS9, and ENT. It was the same stuff sort of rehashed with different people.
