Stupid is as stupid does may actually mean something in games with adaptives.
For example. Considering all the functions listed in the above articles, the NPC crew would be very affected by the subscriber emotionally and analytically.
simple stereotypical examples:
You are a mean person. You do not reward or promote your crew, you put the ship and them in peril an awful lot, you use aggression & bully tactics instead of diplomacy more than not and you limit replicator rations. Your crew will not be happy, will not advance well, have poor dispositions and will be aggressive more than not and also more willing to steal and cheat to get what they need.
You are a good person: You use diplomacy predominantly, use non-lethal weapons when possible, avoid taking the ship into dangerous waters unnecessarily, promote down time, reward crew, reward learning. YYour crew will advance better, learn faster and better, will use non-violence more often AND WILL BE MORE VALUABLE when trading them in at bases.
Endowed with greatness...legendary crew: Knowing this crowd...some were born for Trek. They will be such amazing players their A.I. will acquire amazing skills and knowledge. Since Adaptive A.I. can 'teach' each other, you crews will be VERY valuable. If allowed to trade and recruit new crews, when trading they will command high dollar (Prestige, etc).
Specialty A.I....combat: You are a war captain! Your strength is in all things tactical! Your crews will learn your tactics, get bonuses to tactics and can teach other A.I. tactics better.
---
In a lot of ways adaptive will be like your children.
---
I look forward to hopefully seeing Adaptive A.I. in STO.
