Can your character be assimilated? Then it goes off run as another A.I.

hmm, maybe not PC's or important crew, as that would be a nightmare to explain when you suddenly come back all normal after "dying" but it would be pretty cool if the borg could assimilate redshirts, I don't think losing them would matter all that much...

Probably, they wouldn’t be Borg if they couldn’t assimilate you, but make it something similar to SW Republic Commando you get injected and go down but your team has a few minutes to get you a Hypospray of some new antidote before you succumb to the collective. (They could also add some neat visual effects that clutter your screen with Borg data code) but once the timer hits 0 Game over. I couldn’t really see playable Borg.
