A Fleet Museum...?

I've noticed a couple of people wondering if we'll see homages to past Captains, Crews and Ships. I thought a great and simple way, well maybe not simple to the poor team tasked with creating it lol, would be a Fleet Museum in orbit of Earth. It's been mentioned several times in Trek if memory serves. Anyone else think this would be a cool idea?

something that would be cool to ingame museum would be if they would get the captains or crew members to the diffrent ships to get some kind of voice over to a terminal or such, telling a little about that ship and crew.

A museum with the classic Constitution and Miranda designs that you can tour? Sure that would be an excellent idea.

But seriously, the fleet museum would be amazing. Not to mention it would give the 3D designers something fun to work on. =P

I think between their ideas and our wish lists lol they have PLENTY of fun stuff to work on ha. I still think this would be great though. It would be a diversion for players too who are possibly waiting for ship repairs or something. It could also be tied into the training system in the tutorial in some ways.

Fleet Museum would be nice but shouldn't be implimented at the expense of more important items needed in STO.

Yeah thats a great idea!!! Hell, you could even expand it to include current player heroes, like the scoreboards in CoX

That would be awesome especially if we could go aboard some of the old ships

oh my gosh, how nice would that be to be able to tour inside all the previous ships and read info with some voice-overs with actual crews like Kirk's and Janeway's!

This could be easily coded as a "holodeck" experience or simply at an earth or starbase location. I would love to be able to see the insides of each of the potential ships we could fly.

I think it would be an interesting idea, though I'm sure it'd have to be pretty large to house every old ship with a heroic captain ;)

LOL, well maybe they could spread these out through SOL or something instead of one large complex. You're right it would probably take an installation the size of the moon ha!

This is a really fascinating idea and would definitely provide another way for players to interact, so I would like to see it implemented. I don't know if something like this can be expected for launch, but I can definitely see something like this being developed for a future expansion of some sort.
