I would hope that it would take a couple of fleets to take out a Star Base. I would also hope that it would take a couple of Capital ships to take out an Outpost.

I think it would be a fantastic sensation to see DS9 in action. Or protecting it/other starbases, which I am sure will be some kind of mission/quest. Will be cool if stations such as DS9, will be hubs for players to meet/trade etc as well.

Didn't DS9 have around 300 Klingon ships attack it and it still survived?

I think it should be based off of what ships you use and what your tactics are.

I think for the Feds they would use superior numbers, Romulans sneak tactics, Klingons 1 or 2 Negh'Var's, Vulcans would bore the occupants to death and Ferengi would just buy it.

Can a single ship or two take a Star Base or Outpost? Sure just look at the Klingon Negh'Var. The Negh'Var is the most powerful Alpha Quadrant ship known to exist. The Negh'Var is built to defeat Space Stations and planetal installations.

Was there a Negh'Var at DS9 when it was attacked?

Yeah. That was after it had 3000 torpedo tubes installed.

The Negh'Var that powerful... really? I don't think so. It was more like their version of the Sovereign.

If it was that powerful... you wouldn't need starbases anymore... would you? Just park your Negh'Vars along the Neutral Zone and... poof... you're invincible.

Also... add to that the fact that the Klingons would've won the Dominion War by themselves and conquered the Romulans and Cardassians.... and maybe even the Federation.

DS( was a stupid, they [packed moe weapons and sheild generators on it than it could power, ye still could. not even a full fledged starbase/spacedock had that much on them and they have 10,000 times the power of DS-crappy.

now on topic, I'm still against the whole "guild": build bases concept. an bases won't be destroyable, as they will be hub places. now maybe the dumb "guild" built ones might be destroyable and such, but i find that's going to case mroe problems than anything else.

Yes that's what I liked about DS9. From barely being able to fend off 3 Cardassian cruisers, with 4(?) photon torpedoes in episode 1, to all the upgrades for the dominion war...

Still, all starbases are destructible.

I would hazard a guess that NPC starbases would be indestructible anyway. Most anyway. I wonder if they will implement a NPC local authority like in EVE...Security status space etc...Where it is safe to fly, and where you will be protected by NPC Starfleet etc.

That was always one of my biggest wishes. To see one of those Starfleet stations fire it's weapons. Those things are massive and would have made an excellent space battle. I'd like to see a huge fleet go up against one of those. Players had better have a fast net connection; imagine the lag.

A single Negh'Var na maybe not but a few ya. The question would be how much power they can devert to wpns. A ship would never be able to match a Space Stations power output.

However:

The Negh'Var warship was the largest class starship known to operate in the Klingon Defense Forces during the late 24th century.

In 2372, the IKS Negh'Var, which was a vessel of this type, was the flagship of the Klingon Imperial Fleet. While under the command of General Martok, she led the Klingon Empire's invasion of the Cardassian Union on stardate 49011. She thereafter fought an action at Deep Space 9, where she was able to breach the station's shields long enough to transport several troops. (DS9: "The Way of the Warrior")

In the mirror universe, the Klingon-Cardassian Alliance utilized the same design in the construction of the Regent's flagship. (DS9: "Shattered Mirror", "The Emperor's New Cloak")

Armament: Twenty ship-mounted disruptor cannons, one large forward disruptor, four torpedo launchers

According to the non-canon Decipher customizable card game, the future Negh'Var type that appeared in "All Good Things..." was identified as a Voodieh-class.

In the video game Star Trek: The Next Generation - Birth of the Federation, this vessel is designated as a "strike cruiser" and was primarily a torpedo platform used in long-range assaults against starbases and outposts and for planetary assaults. However, in the Star Trek: Armada series of PC games, they are referred to as battleships, and possess more standard armaments.
