Has there been any word yet on how money will be handled? Will Federation credits cover everything or will it be possible to rely on replicators for a vast majority of basic in-game needs? Will latinum be part of the game? Do the currencies between, say, the Federation and the Klingon Empire have any compatibility or does latinum at that point have to be the common bartering currency?

Federation Credits, I think. At least for Starfleet.
We do not know nothing yet for Fact but I think latinum is going to be used in the game just because it is talked about more in the show.

No.
By this time in history, the Federation's become a Tribble-based economy.

It would be nice to see each one have it s own Economy but with it being a game an to say time I think they would have one slandered form of Cred

I can't help but think of the whole beanie baby craze several years ago, and picturing all those Star Trek types with their tights going crazy trading beanie baby tribbles or whatever. It would certainly be much more exciting than latinum.

If it's a tribble-based economy, EVERYONE would be rich, thus there would be no point. :p
I could just imagine the tribble orgy parties in an attempt to get more money faster...

That has got to be the most unstable currency ever conceived. It would become over inflated in a matter of hours. 10,000,000,000 tribbles for a ham sandwich. :p
