I guess if we could pass on or sell our old ships to others it would be great.

We have NO... NONE... ZILCH... info on Economy or trade goods.

I didn't think so. Heck, I may be wrong but besides the players the only other "item" that we know of are the ships lol

NO... NONE... ZILCH... pretty much sums up what we know about this game in general, except of course we know we will be the Captain of our own ship at game launch.

trade, crafting or item/equipment trading is going to be allowed... then I'm sure that EVENTUALLY there will be a trade forum. As for right now... who knows... cept for the Dev's of course.

Now, the idea of trading and selling ships, I find that a fascinating idea. :)

I'd like to see an auction house system. That way I won't have to spam, "WTS ______" or "WTB ______" in public areas.

If it is possible to trade anything between players at all, then I expect we will have a trade forum here to help coordinate things - most MMOs do, so I see no reason why STO won't. Of course, we aren't anywhere near the point of needing one now.

And, if players can't do that, I will be very much shocked.

I don't see how a game like Star Trek could function without some sort of trade system and forums to accompany it. Though the item to use for money or whatever they choose to do I'm still unsure of how it could work.

Yes. I definitely agree in that we should have some place for trading to occurr even it has a bunch of LCARS screens and we have tickers showing the latest prices on various items etc. I will be very bummed if I too see WTS or WTB while in STO.
