Honestly, the GORN???? what the hell. I dont want any gorn. I want real species. Why waste memory and space on the gorn instead of giving us classes?

I know not everyone agrees with me. Im sure some of you want only to be captains, but I was REALLY looking for ranks. I also know some dont care about classes, but i REALLY wanted the oppurtunity to be able to be a tactical or ops officer.

And now what, all our discussion is for nothing. Its basically bridge commander with stupid races. Maybe we'll see the lyrians too:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

No classes, no ranks, no abilities to do anything unique. Sigh, after all my excitement I feel very let down.

Well a let down was bound to happen. Heck I’m not jumping for joy. But we all really hyped this up A LOT and now REALITY is setting in. And it is hard. I think every species should have special abilities that make it more suited to certain situations. The possibility of being the captain of a medial ship, cargo ship, repair ship or other “skill set” ship is another possibility.

It’s not exactly what we wanted but not everything is lost either. Even if the above comments doesn’t come to fruition you could command an Akira class ship and customize how you approach missions. Or serve a particular purpose in a guild fleet like repair ship or medical ship… I don’t know just a thought.

Don’t get too down though we have many months and a lot more info to go before I think anyone can call this a big loss.

IMO

O i know who the gorn are but...i was just disappoitned to see theyre focusing on the gorn as opposed to say, borg romulans cardassians ferengi boleons or more.

And capt d has presented some exciting possibilities. I do love akira class vessels and no, not everything is lost. Im not trying to command a protest but iots just hard for me, getting so excited KNOWING what could have been. and then seeing this

What are you even talking about? They listed the Gorn as an example of just how much freedom theyre giving you to be an obscure race, not that theyre *focusing* on it. They made it clear you're going to be just about any humanoid species you want, Vulcans, , ferengi, etc.

*Faction* is a separate issue. Of course you cant be Borg in a Federation Starship.

Honestly, only Star Trek fanboys could find a way to complain about being able to be any race you want.

i think it was just general ref. like saying from ants to zebras isn't saying that there are mostly only ants a zebras on the planet just saying it a whole scope of animals. gorn are mearly a race only featured once i think.

may as well have said the tamarians (picard and dathon at tenagra when the walls fell) my favorite episode btw.

I felt the same way. So many possibilities… and so much autonomy… but I think much of it just wasn’t practical… I don’t know…

I agree, the game we want will come. But its going to come in small quarterly updates. Most MMOs suck at first. They are empty shells. When I look at an new MMO I don't look to see whats there.. I look to see what CAN be there.

I understand where your coming from. I think alot of us wanted something...A DEEP immersive experience. Perhaps a 2nd life esque star trek. One where we could actually live the life of a starfleet officer. At least I think i was hoping that. I wanted to start as an ensign, be assigned to a ship and go from there. Rich ship interiors and player manned ships. Maybe that cant be done, im not sure, but im really hoping this game play video on sunday is great or else i dont know
