Ok, Im making a list of a few things i think Cryptic needs to do to be successful with this game.

1. Advertise A LOT. you don't often see trek commercials. as a matter of fact i've seen about 3 in my entire life and im 16. some of ST Legacy's failure IMO was the fact that it wasn't advertised...pretty much at all. Commercials would bring in more trekkies to the gaming community and maybe even more people who play MMOs but aren't familiar with trek, in addition to some star wars fans.

2. take the time to make an excellent game, but not necessarily perfect. I know we've all been waiting for the next great trek game. I know a lot of you guys sat on the Legacy forums waiting...waiting for that game. I believed it would be the best thing trek could get. Overall however people did not like it. This game needs to be good, and it needs to be the best trek game out there. however unlike other games this ones an MMO, it can be patched. if something is amiss it can be repaired. It can also be made better. If the games not perfect upon release don't worry.

3. The game needs to apply to multiple people on one ship, and one person on one ship. I for one would love to have complete control over my ship. Others however want players to control the major positions on the ship. The game needs to apply to both preferences. If it doesn't, it will disappoint a lot of people. The ships should also contain Turbolifts, Personal Quarters, and chief areas(Sickbay, Main Engineering, ETC...).

Well thats what I think.

PS just an opinion: I'd like to see Fed uniforms Similar to the ones in voyager or Nemesis, they need to stay somewhat simple, i don't want to see shoulder pads, a sash, and a belt with a phaser holster.

I believe the advertising is important. I also believe that the game will be patched as all MMOs are as long as the patch isn't like the SWG patch that took the skills away. We will be the real open bata for the first year.

Here's where I can't agree. The multiple person ship. I for one don't want to sit behind a another person and shot phasers, or pilot the ship. I want to be the Capt. Why would you play a game and want to be the first officer or the tactical officer? Those positions are support positions. The other reason is I don't want to wait for hours to get a crew together. In the MMO world, you will spend all that time getting a crew together. Your guild will not always be there. You will launch your mission and someone will always say, "Oh, I have to go." And you will be at square one again. Also, if one person is a not doing their job, the whole crew would die. I personally don't want to depend on these people and have to wait and wait and wait some more to get this together. If I want that I would go play Ever Quest again. I am paying money to have fun, not wait.

I also, I think the game need other factions. I hope that will come with time. I would like to see a Q mission where Q messes with the ship at random times. I would like to see the Klingons have a tribble invasion. Competition mission between al tlhe factions to get new found planets to join their faction to expand the empires. Like a PvP Diplomatic mission. That's all I can think of for right now
