i hope its very dynamic and kinda complicated cause it would be more realistic then a button that says sheilds on and sheilds off

You gotta remember that whatever controls there are need to transfer to console controllers easily. That may hint at a simpler control scheme. We will have to wait and see on the 10th (hopefully).

Honestly? Christmas 2009. I think beta will start next summer and it'll be released just in time for the holidays.

Don't we all! I'd say be patient, but none of us really have a choice. I'd suggest playing some other Trek games in the meantime to keep you occupied. Elite Force or Armada or Legacy (patched) or even Encounters on the PS2.

lol ironically i bought legacy for my computer not knowing that my computer didnt have a dvd drive and the game was dvd format, so the game has been sitting on the shelf collecting dust ,i also have encounters but i hardly play it cause the game loads so slow and the game to me is retarded

Yikes, if you don't have a DVD drive how exactly are you planning on playing Star Trek Online? Sounds like your computer is really old. Do you have a 360 or something?

i have a ps3, my computer is a 2005 emachines computer and it wasnt made for gameing when we got it, but i think that they will make the game in either both dvd or cd or just cd format cause cd is a more common drive for ppl with computers as old as mine

Just keep in mind that the game is most likely going to be on the 360, and considering how many games are put on DVDs nowadays, Star Trek Online might be on them, too. Perhaps it's time to start saving up for a new computer? That's what I'm gonna start doing.

If they are going PC and console, they might not do CD. (cause all consoles are dvd or better ie. blueray) But I'm pretty sure they would have a digital download, id put even money down. They might withhold it till a little while after launch however depending if they would want to host it in their own servers vs fileplant/etc.etc.
There is just no way to go wrong with making a client download available it can do nothing but increase your subs easily with very little overhead.

i would hazard a guess (getting the thread back on track) for PC would be a series of on screen buttons and keyboard shortcuts.
for console i would hazard a guess of a couple of hotkeys and a series of on screen buttons,

As soon as found out for this game, I started saving for a new computer. I might just make it in time.
However, I think the game will come out around spring 2009 and the beta version sometime around Christmas.
I'd LOVE to see all the consoles as they are in the series. However, it would probably be too complicated. I'd also love it if it would be possible to walk around the whole ship, don't you think that would be nice?
Can't wait for STO!!!!
