is anyone else going to be seriously ****ed off if he cant do advertising for STO because of his gay shamen advertisement for WoW?

i would expect the advertising for STO to be completly different and would expect they would have DS9, TNG and Voyager cast members to advertise rather than getting Shatner

although it would be cool for an advert to say something like(if it was shatner)
"explore the Final Frontier alongside Captain Kirk, Captain Picard, Captain Sisco, Captain Janeway and entire new generation of starship captains who boldy go where no one has gone before!"
i wouldent mind if they didnt though plus kirk would be dead really so they couldent say that :)

Umm no, sorry but Shatner and his agent(s) more importantly are not so stupid they would sign a non-competition agreement for a 30 second plug.

Personally I wouldn't mind Picard doing the plug for this one as opposed to Mr Pricewatch

Patrick Stewart would be a great one to do adverts :)

Meh. I don't think they'll do that kind of heavy advertising.

he doesnt need to be alive, it could be along the lines "have you ever wanted to Explore strange new worlds? To seek out new life and new civilization and to boldly go were no gamer has gone before. NOW YOU CAN go get yourself a copy of STO and you can relive my adventures or have entire new ones of your own" LMFAO:D:D:D:D

I must agree and in the background Data is playing STO on the server side as the AI for the NPCs... then Diana Troy runs in screaming "THIS IS SOoOOo terrible... all the energy, all the pain, all the suffering, so many lives.... so many..."

Ooo if they could actually get Patrick Stewart to do some voices in the actual game would be a very nice touch. I mean he's done many voices in games before and.... well he's such a good actor his voice just rocks.

It would make more sense to have Patrick Stewart than Shatner, since in Perpetual's STO it was hinted that Picard was still alive. (Not sure if that is being continued in Cryptic's STO.)

Then again it would be cool get "that announcer guy from the movies", Don LaFontaine.

I would also vote for Michael Dorn doing the Worf voice.

Nah I think it would be better with the captains from TNG Voyager and DS9 for this one because it takes place just after them, you might have them say that they are handing the torch to us as the next Captains of the federation bodly going where no one has gone before!

Honeslty, I dont want Shatner to come anywhere near this game. He would endorse toe nails if it paid him well enough. I wouldnt mind seeing some of the TNG or Voyager folks involved with in game voice of Npcs or something if their characters are still alive in the 25th century, but not shatner. Cant stand him.

heh, I doubt any advertising for this MMO will be done on Television. The funding for these games are all in development and when launched they are in debt till the earn that money back.

WoW ended up being immensely popular. thus they have the money to spend to do advertisements. Adverts for any other MMO game I have never seen. So I doubt STO will have advertisments for television. it may have plugs from Star Trek shows and conventions. And Magazine articles. but I doubt it will get it's on TV commercial.
