Is the music going to have that Star Trek feel? Will it be copy righted themes we've all heard and love? Or will the music be all in studio?

I would love to hear clips of the music.... any information when one might be availible?

Would love to have Mr. Jerry's Goldsmith's input on this... But unfortunately he is no longer among us to write more of his great music.

Is there anywhere I can find this music that's being talked about?

Pardon me... I thought you were talking about the person who wrote the music for this before it was sold to Cryptic.

I hope Cryptic is considering utilizing music from the upcoming movie.

Not only is the new Star trek movie probably going to have a fantastic score, but having as may tie ins with the movie as possible will probably open the game up more to those being introduced to Trek for the first time.

I wouldn't mind seeing Hans Zimmer having something to do with STO's soundtrack.

There are a good few Fan made Star Trek videos out there that make amazing use of his music.

Although I'd hate to see the composers that did Star Trek Legacy's track being involved, that was like Stargate meets Star Trek in a car crash.

Jerry Goldsmith, Hans Zimmer.. Either would appease me. As long as it has that mellow feel during non-combat times, and then gets down and dirty in combat.. Remember the old Klingon Theme from the first 3 movies? PERFECT

oh come now, half the people in this forum want a WoW clone anyways, so might as well add cartoonish music too ;)

I always thought Goldsmith was pretty good... but I was never crazy about the re-hashing of the theme from the first Star Trek movie for use in TNG.

I much prefer the work of James Horner in ST:II (my favorite Trek soundtrack of all time). Personally, I'd love music in the game that captures this kind of vibe.

I'd like to see liberal use of licensed Star Trek music, but also a nice original score by Jeremy Soule.

As long as This (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XyhhFzE5O5U) music makes it in though, I'll be happy.

No.. it's just YOU who wants the game to be 115% as real is it can get. I want a game, not a Star Trek simulator.

In a week the same soundtrack gets real old no matter how good it is.

in game media and 'in-character' radio stations could be a nice alternative when you grow tired of the soundtrack.

Fleet Radio, a segment I have been working on for Hailing Frequency is promoting the idea of radio/media stations in STO. It is something I'd like to do in STO :). UFP News, politics, sporting events, fleet news, etc.

Other MMO's have done it and few have tried to be all in-character stations.

I would like hat very much, be something yu couldlisten to in your quarters on those long treks across sectors or when you and your crew gather in the rec area for a morale boosting party :)

yea the music is a big part of Star Trek for me, I remember I was disappointed with Star Trek: Legacy's music, just was a little to "non trek"ish... but it came close.
