It's been shown as anywhere from about the size of several shuttles long to 50-75% as long as a Galaxy-class saucer section. It's size varies so wildly that nobody is quite sure but the "official" Star Trek books quote it at being somewhat smaller than a Galaxy-class saucer section which is still quite huge compared to what it's usually show as.

Honestly have it have the bridge, engineering, sickbay and crew quarters that would be enough for me in a defiant class

Isn't the crew complement of the Defiant supposed to be somewhere around 50, and the Galaxy over 1000? And the Defiant is often described as small, cramped, and lacking in creature comforts, so I don't see how, canonically, it can be anywhere near as big as a Galaxy saucer.

They should make it to the smaller dimentions. It has more charm as a small well armed, tough ship with no amenities.

I believe that the Defiant should be ~120m long which is the average size shown. The only time it was shown being 50m was in First Contact.

Voyager was functional with 150ish people, thought not the full crew compliment. Intrepid-class ships are pretty big at maybe half the size of a Galaxy-class. :P
