What will this game offer that the others don't?
If this game will not ever have the following, then give up, everyone will call it WoW in space.
=Starship and base interiors
-Fully walkable and functional multi decked interior
-Ship consoles that allow for different tasks, and a securty system to allow permissions to certain ones.
-Accesable interior systems that can be directly modified,repaired,tweaked by players onboard a ship
-Internal explosions at the point that a weapon hits a shieldess section (can kill or wound players)
-Being able to view the action of the outside through a window or screen on the ship
-Abilty to board another ship, either in a peaceful manner, or to attempt to sabatoge or capture the starship.
=Fabricaton
-Schematics for nearly every item and object that is non-organic and has a function of some sort
-Starship fabrication via shipyards
=Colonys
-Player operated colonys with production and consumption and the abilty to set prices on commoditys
All of the following to be done by PLAYERS, not a mere variable, or some mindless NPC.
That's all I can think of at the moment, and btw, there is a game that has everything in that list already.
It's called starquest online.
Anyways I hope you all make the right decisions on this project and don't go for the easy rip off tactic to just dress a game up real nice, bring in some cash and not care what the community wants after you got there money.
It's all about the graphics for people now days isn't it...
