How do you think Starship Collisions should be handled as well as Crash Landings in STO??
Collisions - If the deflector goes off line, you might have to content with stellar bodies such as asteroids, but steer clear obviously - Ship to Ship, I think it would be wise for people to avoid because of the level of repair and resouces it would take to fix the damage to your vessel/
Crash Landings - What if I am attacked in orbit of a planet knocking out my Impulse engines and RCS Thrusters, what should happen?

As long as its not "bounceback" Ill be ok with it.

i would expect to see a small movie like the crash sequence of the Enterprise in Generations but only with the class model you have :)

I seriously doubt that crash landings will be a part of the game upon release, if ever.
It'd be awesome, though. :)

Well when you are in Orbit you shouldn't have to worry about crashing into the planet.... right?
You have to worry if you are under the planets atmosphere... Right? (I'm not sure... just taking a guess)
Which is still the same question... what should happen? (But you won't be in the planets atmosphere very much.... if they even allow that type of gameplay with your ship)

Crash Landings would be almost as cool as a destructable environment, or Ship battle damage. However i fear none of these will make the final cut :(

Word2BigBird, i iihnk the OP means that if your fighting in the orbit of a planet and a lucky shot knocks out your engines (which is keeping you in orbit) and you start going towards the planet and cannot stop

Collisions should make it in, but I'd imagine crash landings would be infact difficult to work out...but we'll see.

The solution is easy... Just switch to Manual Control and Rider her all the way down! hehehe Manual control of the star ship is a game joy stick... are you F'in Kidding me?! hehehe

Oh, I thought that when you are in Orbit, the planet keeps you there... unless he knocks you out of orbit into the planets atmosphere...which will result in an epic deadly crash. :)

If they have ship collisions....
I could just cloak and run my bird into the whole lot of you role players while you're on the recreation deck playing 3D chess or something.
I vote yes for collisions.

Another question........ Maybe has already been addressed in another thread.... I dunno
But, what will happen when your ship gets destroyed and you die? Rez at the nearest graveyard LOL?
