I just adored Dr. Phlox, and would feel the safest, and the most listened to, of all the physicians listed.

Crusher would be second, she had a great bedside manner and wouldn't let any pesky Prime Directive be a barrier to my treatment.

Pulaski would be third on my list....apparently a brilliant researcher and competent doc. Bedside manner could use some work, but anyone who hates the transporter is aces in my book.

Bones would be a close fourth, both for the above mentioned transporter opinion and because he successfully reconnected a brain...I mean....wow!

The EMH would do in a pinch, but don't let me get anywhere near Bashir. I don't care if I'm death's door, 'cause I'll still feel compelled to get up and smack that self righteous smugness right out of him.

A hard question indeed!

Phlox is by far my favorite Doc - when in a crisis, he performs even more professionally than The Doctor! Not to mention a bedside manner so reassuring, that he could tell me I was going to die horribly and painfully, and Id still feel right as rain.

Id definitely like to wake up to Kes's face. The fact that I am seeing her and not The Doctor probably means I'm no longer in any kind of serious danger - and she's not a bad face to see when I come back into consciousness ;) Kes at the bedside means The Doctor manning the scalpel, and with his perfect knowledge, I feel my odds of survival are higher.

If I woke up to Pulaski, I'd feel honored! Before dropping out of university to become a pastry chef, I was a biochemistry major - id just love to read her papers on virology! The chance to meet such a great researcher in person would be terrific.

If Tom Paris was the first thing I saw when waking up in sickbay... id probably just shoot myself. God knows what that cocky youngster did to me! And if he's the one manning the medbay, the absence of The Doctor usually means something terrible is happening outside

I have to say it boggles my mind every time I come across an EMH fan. Of all the not trek asinine premises they brought forth on Voyager... That one is at the top of the list. I guess The Doctor would be okay, since the whole point of the character was that he had transcended being a mere EMH, but a totally left-brained physician would worry me (as would an entirely right-brained one, I suppose, but there aren't any of those in ST, that I can think of).

As for Kes, she's not even an RN. She'd be great for "mouth-to-mouth" (as, I imagine, would be Tom Paris if you're a girl or gay), but if I've got plasma burns, phaser-coolant poisoning, or some bizarre extraterrestrial parasite, I think I'd want a real doc, doc.
