The Galactic Foreign Legion (GFL) is an online gaming group and one of the most respected gaming organizations still in existence today. We are a group of dedicated individuals that share a passion for gaming, unswerving devotion to honor, unity through friendship, and respect for all.

Founded in 1999 on Mplayer and based on the Star Trek – Starfleet Command Series of games, we have evolved to support a multi-game environment combining many genres including simulation, real time strategy, first person, massively multiplayer, and adventure games. We currently offer official support for Star Trek: Starfleet Command III, Neverwinter Nights, Star Wars Galaxies and the World of Warcraft.

We have helped support online gaming since the beginning and continue to support ongoing efforts of members, developers, publishers, mod groups, and player communities across all of our supported divisions. We earn respect for our efforts and act as player advocates everywhere where our input is invited.

Our members are no ordinary group of individuals. We play with integrity, maturity, honor, and respect first and foremost. We play to win, but never at the expense of fairness and friendship. Our membership is structured in a paramilitary format to promote order, respect and communication in our ranks, but we take great pride in recognizing and rewarding members that exemplify our core values and those who reflect positively on the overall organization.

We offer extensive support for members at all experience levels, including training events and guidance for even the newest players. If you need help, you only need to ask. We also recognize and reward top notch players using rank promotions, in-game benefits, awards, medals, elite group memberships and competitive events. Those who demonstrate effective leadership and sound judgment are often offered the opportunity to serve the GFL in various command positions where greater privilege and responsibility are required.

You may join the GFL for any supported game and full members may participate in any supported game, multiple games simultaneously or any combination thereof. Although we are primarily a North American based organization, our ranks include membership from around the world.

The GFL offers dedicated hosting in support of these efforts including a full compliment of game servers for each division that are run by our members for our members. We host both publicly available and private servers for the group with the sole purpose of providing a superb gaming environment for all. The GFL also hosts a dedicated Team Speak voice server to allow for a more personal gaming experience.

We are always looking for new players for our family.

Its great to hear from everyone. We will still keep the SFC#3 server running. Now with our own custom missions and the most difficult ai gameplay SFC3 has gone to new hieghts and our server since being updated to a vista system has never gone down. Current dyna is live and were having a blast. So while we wait come on over and have some fun.

we will accept all applications for recruits and when this game comes out we will definately be a factor to deal with. we dominated in sfc2 and 3 and 1 and op and we will dominate here.

I hope the dev's allow our team to join in beta testing as we have before.

The old Guard and the not so old guard, The GFL and SFC3 are going strong as ever Nimitz ( Council )is still flying at transwarp and Offkey (CO ) is a formiddable oponent.

A bit disappointed that The Romulans won't be in at the start ( as I am Praetor of the GFL SFC3 group, lol ) and we have the only fully operational Tal Shi'ar on any dyna ( beware cheap imitations, lol ) but The Galactic Foreign Legion fly united as one and we will be a force to reckon with.

Hi Cocomoe

Been a long time. I was F-EagleEye a Captain in the ole days when we played the Dynaverse. Are you still in touch with Kirk and his wife. I know you two knew each other. You were one of the Council members as I remember. I'm really looking forward to the launch of Star trek online and look forward to being an active member of the GFL again.

Say hi to everyone for me.

Oh dear god, Cocomoe is back! This man ripped me a new one more times than I want to recall. Note to self, Destroy Gorn's home world before he gets comfortable in a Gorn ship.

Good to SEE you and the entire Fleet coming on-board. Used to be with GFL back when kirk was running around.

Flew for yall a while back, way back in SFC1, before ending up with a nearly permanent home in the Golden Triad...

Good to see your still around. I hope they give you Gorn hulls. I hope they give you seeking weapons.

I hope I never end up at range 2 without a decent repel set.

Good hunting!

Haha, I had no idea GFL was still around. I joined GFL back in either 2000 or 2001. I doubt anyone would remember me, my presense in GFL wasn't very high, but that was out of my hands. Thinking about it now, if someone did remember me, they probably would remember I was annoying. The only higher ranking members I really talked to were..Time Traveler(I think that was his name) and Morgan. Honestly those are the only members I remember.

At that poiint in time my name kept switching from Capt_Barbarian or Juggernaught and I was constantly refered to as Juggs or Big-B.

I may consider on rejoining. I don't play SFC3 anymore, I have it, just don't care for it. I don't play WoW either. I did pitch the idea of taking GFL to Diablo 2 but obviously that didn't happen, at least not while I was there. I was surprised I was really the only one in GFL that played Diablo 2 at the time, or at least that's the impression I got. I don't remember how the ranking worked anymore, I just remember how much I didn't like it. I went up like 6 or 7 ranks in the short time I was in GFL.

EDIT: I remember Shamrock, I never really talked to him though, lol.

I also remember the clan meetings I kept having to miss because my parents didn't understand why the hell that was so important. I think that's ultimately the reason why I had to quit.

I do remember going up against you a few times Hohndo.

It surprised me to, that the GFL is still around. More and more old Mplayers are coming out of the wood work.

Hohndo
11-29-2009, 01:30 PM
Really? I don't reconize your name, lol.

I remember some of the council member were irritated because I kept changing my name, lol. I was young, I didn't really care. I actually sucked at SFC in matches against other players..at least when I was by myself. I was extremely good as more of a support for bigger ships. My ship had fairly fast recharging weapons with decent damage so I was able to beat down the sheilds for the everyone else and they delivered the hard hits.

I'm debating weather I want to start my own fleet or not, but chances are I will join GFL again. I'll probably start my own fleet at some point but I would remain in GFL still.

Welcome Hohndo, I honestly don't recall the name, but then again back in 2000 we had a lot of members back then. Though what I do remember was the fun we used to have on Mplayer wiith a room of 30 people just shooting the breeze and passing the gavel around to get their crack at the winner of the last battle.

I think it was 4-5 years ago that I played on the GFL servers for SF3. I hope to be able to play SFO but my schedule is going to be incredibly tight so making any sort of commitment will be impossible.

I did check back over on the GFL forums and I remember battling some of you - MCM sticks out for some reason...

Bump.

We are currently testing Teamspeak 3, and Nuke Platnium 7.6v5.01 for our website reboot.
So far TS3 is great. Good sound quality and seems to be stable with every game I have been able to through at it even SFC3.
