These are spot on...
Legacy (PC) does not usually play MP in Vista it runs great on a Fast XP machine with a good GPU
But it's a resource hog if you want to see how beautiful it really is. The controls are quirky - I won't lie.
But between the Patches and the Mods, there is now no finer Star Trek Ship Combat game - period.
Elite Force 2 . As a single player FPS you may be disappointed at the campaigns.
But the multiplayer aspects are tremendous. Most people really don't know what they are talking about.
Let them play HL2 online or something. (a game I also play and like)
Make sure you patch to version 1.1 (and only 1.1) PM me or join our new forum for alot of information regarding EF2 I am still one of the regular EF2 players online.

I would have to disagree that Elite Force 2 is the best, I would personally go with Elite Force One - considering the amount of modifications available for it; most notably RPG-X. Both of which are FPS games rather than RTS though.
As for Star Trek RTS games in general; I would go with ST: Armada 2. It does have a wide range of modifications and while the stock graphics are rather dated - there are files out there that improve upon those graphics tremendously.

I'll disagree with both of you and say Bridge Commander. Much more mods for that game, and much more exciting IMHO.

While Bridge Commander is a good game, it gets boring playing on your own for hours on end, it's also not an RTS game.
With Elite Force RPG-X however, you get Roleplaying with other people and equally with ST:A2 you can have diverse games online.
Bridge Commander is basically fly and shoot.

How can you be so right about Armada 2 and so wrong about EF :)
I actually like Armada 2, but like EF2 it is an expensive game for an antique.
I got mine at a second hand store for $2 but that was just a phenomenon.
Do you still play EF1? I could probably do a match or two if you'll come on EF2 and give it another run.
I even have some cool Bat Arenas if your into that kinda thing.

I got my Bridge Commander in the 3D glasses edition I have an older machine with the 3D capable NVidia card but I always wondered if there was 3rd party software or something for newer cards since I still play on my big CRT :)

In my opinion, Elite Force is better, it's the only game I've ever bought and am still playing it years later
While Elite Force 2 has higher resolution graphics, the story isn't great, the casting isn't anything like you'd expect from a Star Trek game - other than Patrick Steward and Tim Russ - and the fact Ritual used the same old moster story they tend to repeat, made it worse.

There are a lot of differing about what the best Star Trek game is. Personally, I don't have a definite favorite. I've enjoyed the Armada games, they're pretty fun RTS games. Elite Force one was an ok FPS, but I think 2 was a lot better. Bridge Commander is really fun too, you get to command one ship, and fight against others. Legacy was a little similar to BC, but there are several differences, for one you command a fleet of 1-4 ships, but game play-wise it's kinda limited in my opinion. They're all pretty cool games, plus there are tons of mods out there to make them better.

I loved EF2, but the multiplayer is pretty much dead now. Since the main liga stopped running, most people left. The single player is great on both EF1 and 2, so I would personally get both:D
