Alpha Fleet is a 3d online roleplay sim where players develop their own characters in a players custom created setting. We are based on a Federation starbase in newly charted territory in the Gamma quadrant in 2388.

After an Alpha Fleet lieutenant discovered and implemented technology to enable the first Federation transwarp aperture, Starfleet's orders are to maintain a starbase in the aperture's vincinity for its maintanance and protection. After facing the Borg, deadly ion storms and alien viruses, they realize their next door neighbours may be even a bigger threat then the Borg...

However we also have wonderful creatives that produce most if not all the items we use which is a very positive part of second life ...one i hope that continues into STO.

I'll try and find some way of running SL on this computer, my 360s ethernet port got fried so I cannot play live, and since the system for some reason never got registered to my name they cannot track down the warranty I got on it

I just visited your sim in SL, and I have to say I have never been asked to put on an observer tag so many times before. Would have been easier if SL would rez faster. Did seem like you guys have done some good work, only thing that I would have recomended would have been building higher in the sky. It's a little wierd seeing an island under a planet. I might stop by again, you all seem to be friendly.

Thank you for visiting!! We would prefer to have our station at least a few kilometers up in the sky. Unfortunately SL supports the moving of objects only up until 700 meters. If this changes we will definately be moving higher.
At the moment we use the planet's surface for rp too, so we need the physical sim surface too, otherwise we would lower the ground level and blacken the water so you see nothing below.

First of all I find it funny how you blatantly lie to the people who visit this thread, because you make AF sound like the most incredible place which is such a fabrication it’s not even funny. I’ve been to your retarded sim a few times and observed your RPs and I have to say that you are quite possibly the worst "RP" sim I have ever seen regardless of genre. You are OOC 99% of the time, and all act like griefers and young children, unless it’s a specific "RP" session. No one there respects the chain of command, you can’t just go there and RP your day to day operations, unless you want to do a duty call on Friday which is really amusing because of course in star trek everyone only had to do their duty shift on Friday and at the same time, the rest of the week [excluding Friday where you have a crappy ass story RP which doesn’t fit in the star trek universe at all] you are all a bunch of babbling idiots. Furthermore, your ground buildings [or lack thereof] all suck. Your sandbox has items that haven’t been returned in months, you have some random ass graffiti on the transporter and some random "shop" like thing just sitting there for no apparent reason, your station isn’t that bad but it seems to be just OOC with a bunch of random rooms. I’ve seen much better stations in SL, oh and what the hell is up with having two sick bays, one for a guy who plays an EMH and the other, I’m assuming for looks. Oh and your air lock doors suck too, most don’t even open and the texture looks retarded. You kick everyone who is inactive for a month, and you preach that real life comes before SL but kick people when that happens, you are all a bunch of freaking hypocrites, So in conclusion, you all pretend to be a great group and sim but in reality you are by far the worst, yes you are unique in the way that you can’t do day to day RP [like the other star trek sims] without permission which is just lame so stop trying to "wow" people and just die already....

Firstly I'd like to say I am sorry you did not come to us to hear us out. Then I would have told you that AF is a relatively young sim, we have been under construction since october last year.

Also I would have told you our rp times are always subject to change, subject to player demand, and we hope to be a 24/7 roleplay sim in the near future, but at this time we lack the players to go around the clock.
Our rp times are slowly increasing: last week we roleplayed on friday, saturday and sunday.

We kick people for inactivity yes, but not just like that! We have players who have not been able to come online for weeks. We value our members' input, and we do not kick dedicated members. AF is made BY and FOR the players!

Our sandbox has items that are projects we are developing for the sim (as the purpose of the SB is!).
You say you have observed our roleplay and claim we are OOC 99% of the time. This would suggest to me you are a frequent roleplayer.
If you have been around trek sims in SL, you should have noticed we are one of very few (actually I only know one other) who roleplays with the level of intensity like we do. Also we only acknowledge ranks in roleplay. This is a choice we strictly take because we like to keep RP and OOC seperate, as where I have seen a lot of Trek sims in SL do not, and pay the price.

The only OOC spaces in our sim are the Welcome Center, the Sandbox (hence the OOC AF related graffiti) and the private residences.


I find it a pity you have not come to us to discuss these things with us. If you pass me an IM in-world (Airethilien Banach) or give me your SL name I am sure we can work this out and show you what AF is all about.

I think Alpha Fleet is a good Role Play Sim. While we aren't 24x7 we do cram some exciting story lines and dramatic Tension into one afternoon that is as engaging as any D&D or Traveller Group I ever played offline.

When we aren't RP'ing we are having fun hanging out, joking, building, and sometimes even watching movies. It has been a great experience for me. Sorry you did not enjoy it.

Second Life’s Alpha Fleet will be hosting a special event for the Halloween holidays.
As much Star Trek as we are we enjoy a good laugh as well, and in the theme of Halloween we will offer you a live online played videogame with and by Trek players, featuring Zombie Borg drones invading the sector surrounding Federation starbase Casus Prime as well as the station itself.
Needless to say, we must defend ourselves to the last redshirt!
The event will consist of two main sections: space combat with fighters and station-based melee combat.

*This event is OPEN TO ALL (bring your friends!) and roleplay is encouraged but not obliged.
*Signing up for this event is COMPULSARY due to planning!

I am pleased to announce that for the upcoming holidays, Alpha Fleet will have several members participating in a collaboration project between various Trek sims on Second Life, known as "Q's Christmas Carol".
This will be a play, performed live by players' roleplay characters under the (mis)guiding hand of Q!
The play shall commence on saturday december 20 @ 8am SLT (=PST). Our plan is to record the play in mroe then way, if that is complete it will be posted here :)
