Almost every oppurtunity I could I wrote a term paper or topic paper about Star Trek. It was so easy. The only hard part was trying to list sources (since I just knew the information). I was a history major so I always wrote papers about how Star Trek modeled itself on the world and the times. And the professors couldn't really give me a bad grade because of how unique it was. Any history or English paper I could pick the topic on was usually about Star Trek. The easiest 40 page papers I ever wrote. And they would usually only take me like two or three hours to write. I only have about three friends in person who like Star Trek like me, so I was wondering if anyone else out there was similar to me. Maybe not, maybe I'm just a giant dork. Oh well, it got me several degrees.

My professors always seemed to love that I tied in something not many of them knew anything about. So it was always like I was being unique. You know, unique over and over again.

Never a paper, but I did speeches on Trek for my communication courses.
Must have been good since I became captain of my colleges speech and debate team.

I mentioned the scenario in a work about utopias.
Also, I based some philosophical stuff on Picards "man strifes to improve"-speech, and it was appreciated by both teachers and freinds.

I'm a programming major, so not so much essay writing, but my final project for two different classes has been a Star Trek game. I've only had one or two opportunities in which I had enough freedom of subject choice to do something really Trek-based, but I used them to refine my knowledge of things I was actively involved in or what-not at the time.
I do, however, spend a LOT of time on Trek, particularly the ships and technology, and don't have many 'real-life' friends who share my appreciation for the series.

Not in collage yet, but I have done many projects involving Star Trek, several of them writing projects. I looking forward to this upcoming school year because I'm taking a science fiction writing class.

I didn't write a paper, but what I did do was create a database and character sheet program as a final project for Visual Basic 6, This was for the tabeltop RPG. You could even update existing characters and reprint the sheet.

I actually never wrote a paper about Star Trek directly but I used elements form the show, philosophies, technology, etc for examples or even a guideline for the paper. I tied Star Trek into the paper which always made it different and fun to read for the professors and one professor even turned out to be a major Star Trek fan and recognized the reference and gave me an A! Most of the papers were A's but this one in particular was an A for the reference of Star Trek. :p

Dang it...I wrote about mythology (which also interest me). Didn't think of slipping Star Trek into the mix.
