This one is hard for me to pick.

I'd say either The Best of Both Worlds, Scorpion or Q Who?

All subsequent Borg episodes were just chasing BOBW.

Any episode with 7 of 9!
But "First Contact" was also a good Borg story.

Btw, has anyone read this novel?

Before Dishonor is a really good read. The moment I picked it up, I couldn't put it down! I highly suggest this book for any Star Trek fan. This stoy puts a new twist to the Borg unlike anything we've seen. Its so good, I think this should be the basis for the new Star Trek movie (that's not a restart like the JJ Abrams film).

One of many reasons me and "Enterprise" didn't get along.

First Contact was definitely a great movie. I also have to say that The Best of Both Worlds was... the best. :)

Q did them a great service introducing them into the Borg earlier than they would have.
Q Who?

We are the Borg.

We enjoyed the one where you are all assimilated.

It hasn't aired yet. We are still working on it.

The Best of Both Worlds. After that point, the Borg started to lose some of their fear factor. In Voyager I enjoyed getting to see them so much, but they were so (in essence) easily dispatched. It kind of de-fanged them; I guess it wouldn't make for much of a show if the "good guys" didn't win -- but I feel like it could have been done in a better way.

If i recall correctly they crashed and froze during the First Contact incident.

Best of Both Worlds is the best Borg episode, and one of the best Trek episodes by far.

TNG: The Best of Both Worlds I & II, where resistance was painful, followed closely by TNG: I, Borg, where we got to see how a Borg Drone might react if it were separated from the Collective (because despite what your math teacher may tell you: 3/5 > 7/9).The Best of Both Worlds. After that point, the Borg started to lose some of their fear factor. In Voyager I enjoyed getting to see them so much, but they were so (in essence) easily dispatched. Resistance should not be futile, but it should almost be, and in Voyager... ...well...

I am Captain Kathryn Janeway of the USS Voyager!
Lower your shields and surrender your shapes!
You will be assimilated and then dressed in jumpsuits!
We will add your technological distinctiveness to our own!
Resistance is futile!

I really enjoyed the TNG episodes with Hugh.

They previously established the Borg as this terrifying, unstoppable force... and then we met Hugh, and he was just the sweetest little puppy of a lost drone ever. The tension and character portrayed in those episodes was fantastic.

For the same reason, I enjoyed the Voyager episodes that dealt with Seven coping and learning to embrace her humanity. She and Janeway had a wonderful dynamic.

Best of Both Worlds --

-- Not because of action or special effects, but because the Borg were actually still creepy back then and the episode was a stunning success for its time. It was a sign that Star Trek could turn Sci Fi suspense up another notch. After Best of Both Worlds, critics took TNG seriously.

Future Borg episodes were great, but as with all villains, when they become too familiar (too humanized), their effectiveness for edge-of-the-seat storytelling seems to diminish some.

Best of Both Worlds

Here's why:

"I am Locutus of Borg.
Resistance is futile.
Your life, as it has been, is over.
From this time forward, you will service...us."

Nuff said.

Yeah, same here. Best of Both Worlds isn't just my favorite Borg episode, it's my favorite TNG episode, plus First Contact is my favorite movie. I love the Borg, they awesome.

As much as I love the battle oriented Borg episodes, I actually enjoyed the TNG season 5 eps with Hugh.

Best of Both Worlds, Q Who, First Contact, and Star Trek Armada 1 are all up there, imo. STA 1 you say? Yes i do. There was something about Picard talking to his borgified self i found amusing....
