i would say next genaration because it contains my fav captin. it is also the seires i collected ( 70 issies all had a DVD with 3 episodes each ) so easy to say ive got all episodes in next gen. :D

I have no problems with the first 2. DS9 only grabbed my attention midway thru the series.......my favorite episode(not sure of the name) and the one that made me say "HOLY $&IT!!!! Thats awesome!!", was when the Klingons attacked the Cardasians then attacked the Defiant then DS9. Good stuff.

In Voyager.....all I liked about the show was 7 of 9. I really couldn't like any others in the crew. I really hated Harry Kim and didn't really care for the ship, either.

And where to begin with Enterprise.......I am a huge Scott Bakula fan....but, come on....seriously? They could have called it "STARTREK:T'Pol" because she was more "ENTERPRISE" then that ship and she was way more interesting.

Ronald Moore wrote the Script that destroyed Kurn, the quintessential Klingon and burned in the hell of my heart until he redeemed himself with the first two seasons of BSG, only to fall back in with the last two.
When Rick Berman said "We don't have time to worry about continuity", he jumped right to the top of my crazy sniper list.

It started it all, nigh on revolutionary at the time although now quite dated by todays standards and thus quite comical, it was always good TV and spent many a happy hour in outer space or was that poorly designed carboard sets? great cast aswell nice mixed and diverse but believable characters.

1) DS9 - Too many characters and stories not to love. I love the big open world it created, the Religous and Political storylines and the flawed characters. This didn't start as the best of the best or the flagship. But they became pretty damn important.

2) TNG - What I grew up on. Watching the pilot is one of my first memories. It was about the people, so even non-Trek fans could enjoy it.

3) ENT / VOY / TOS - They all have big flaws to me. I love the TOS movies, but the show was too campy for me. I'm a big fan of the Treknology and such, things not too big in TOS. I didn't grow up on TOS, so it was my birth into Trek. VOY had its moments, although fleeting. Of the 7 seaons I liked a total of about 3.5 worth of episodes. And ENT was the same, about 1.5-2 seasons worth of good stuff out of 4. It was getting better and better when it was cancelled.

TNG and DS9 had too many fantastic characters for any other to come close. I feel like poor Enterprise never really got a chance. I mean, yeah, it got some years out of it, but it was placed in several crappy time slots.

I grew up as a kid watching TOS and not even TNG could matched the chemistry between the characters. For that reason I don't feel very excited about a new movie coming out -- I almost feel like I am betraying by feelings or something.

Voy... I just didn't like it. Yeah, I have seen it all, but if I never saw it again I wouldn't be very broken up about it. The only characters to me worth a damn were the Doctor and 7. The rest just got in the way...

For me, Star Trek was at its best when it showed a future about humans living in a future where man had conquered space travel and boldly venturing into that frontier. In 24th century Trek, they really show you what it would be like for mankind to live and travel amongst the stars. Not to knock on TOS, but it was more of a swashbuckling adventure and not as insightful or intelligent as TNG and its 24th century counterparts.

I don't really DISLIKE any of them... I just like ENT the least... It kinda sucked. I do like some DS9 episodes though... But not lots of them. The Next Gen is definatly my favorite, but Voyager is very very close. I like them both alot..... They're like almost the same year, with a decade or two... Voyager has awsome tech and stuff.... The Delta Flyer is just awsome... But I think my favorite character of all time is Data, but i guess thats kinda obvious... :D

I think DS9 was the best thing to happen to Star Trek, it actually had interesting characters you carried about, good writting, and some of the greatest battles ever seen. It's hard to rate something over TOS but I haven't seen any TOS in a long time but from what I remember it was great, DS9 is just more current for me.

TNG was good but the characters were weak, they needed to work on character development alot in this show, I don't think they real progressed the characters much in the seven years and four movies, but that being said it was still a good series.

I haven't seen much of Enterprise but I was interested enough that I would at least watch some more of the show to give it a chance, even though most people don't seem to like it much.

Last and very least is Voyager, to be brief the writting on the show was just horrible and the show suffered, the basic idea for the show and the characters was very interesting but they just didn't do anything with it and wasted a lot of opprotunties.

This all being said if you like Voyager that's fine, if you hate DS9 that's fine too, these are just my opinions and feelings.

I'm with the Captain... I'd prefer to watch ST to any other show (unless there are spaceships, explosions, and busty Klingon women).

That said, the first season of Enterprise and a vast majority of DS9 were excruciating to watch... just embarrassing. How they ever got those stories through quality control, I don't know.

Interestingly, I'm currently rewatching ST:TNG, and the best episodes are always the ones with the clever plots or subtle twists... almost like "Twilight Zone" in space. I miss those stories...

I think people disregard Enterprise way too much. I thought the show got better with each season. I was so disappointed when they canceled it. Scott Bakula is my favorite captain of them all. Don't get me wrong, I do like all of the captains and most of the crews. But being a Scott Bakula fan, I couldn't help but like him as captain. I have enjoyed all of the Star Trek series and movies. I own all of Voyager, Enterprise, and DS9 (soon will start buying the others). But I never seem to go with the masses in what I like. For instance, the majority of people seem to like The Wrath of Kahn the most out of the original crew movies. I don't. I prefer The Motion Picture and The Voyage Home the most. And for movies of TNG crew, I prefer Generations and Insurrection over First Contact. And while I enjoyed seeing Worf on DS9, I was not a fan of him being part of the regular crew. And don't even get me started on changing Jadzia to Ezri *rolleyes* Star Trek Voyager was a decent show. I enjoyed most of the cast members. But while 7 of 9 was nice to look at, I grew really really tired of everything being about her. Boring! Tuvak and Paris were my favorites from that show. Just like T'Pol was nice eye candy for Enterprise, but my favorite charactrers were Archer and Trip. You can give me nice eye candy for any of the shows, I'll gawk at them with everyone else. But if you want me to really enjoy the show, the character, and keep watching... then make the character more than just eye candy. Like Captain Janeway, the episodes where she grew a set and stood tall, those were the best for her... not the ones where she falls in love with Chakotay or whoever else.

2. Ent - if you ignore season 3, just kept getting better. Was cancelled at totally the wrong time just as you were getting to see all the interesting stuff.
3. Voy - some good episodes, but voyager should have had a much harder time. The journey should have been like the Equinox.

5. Ds9 - dull as dishwater for the most part, until the dominion war livened it up a bit.

There seems to be an anti-Voyager bias among most people on this website, and I would like to know why. The show had a very good premise and the characters were solid for the most part. I seem to be in the minority for liking the show this much, and that doesn't make that much sense to me.

TOS is a great series, but I have trouble watching it due to the fact that I was born into the age of computer graphics that almost look real.

Star Trek TOS hands down. TNG started out ok but got soapy quik, DS9 i never did catch alot of with working nights when it was out, and voyager started soapy and just got worse. now enterprise i did like shame it ended so soon.

1: TNG/DS9 - great characters and stories, set in a huge and coherent universe.

2: voyager: set in the same nice universe, great premise, but somehow hey never really did anything with it. there is so much more they could have done with the "fish out of water" thing, so many strange things they could have invented outt there in teh delta quadrant; but they just gave us more of the same. janeway was annoying, chakotay, kim and tuvok very one-dimensional, seven was only added to increase ratings, neelix and kes were so unbearably bad at times that they rivalled wesley crusher... redeeming things a little was the excellent doctor, b'elanna (and paris, albeit less so), species 8472 and the hirogens. a decent show, but nowhere near good TNG/DS9 episodes.

TOS: the one that started it all aka "william shatner's wonderful world of ****** acting". almost comically bad at times, but he wasn't the only bad actor on the show. it still has a certain charm though, and it is the "father" of the later, greater shows.

enterprise: star trek for the emo/would-be gangsta generation. dumbed down to the lowest common denominator. i remember that one episode where the asian girl was walkibg around in a tiny dress the whole time, and one where t'pol had to spend 45 minutes rubbing cream over herself because mr braga wanted to explore human sexuality. he should have gone to a strip club instead and have let someone more capable write some real storylines. the whole xindi crap would have been a two-parter on TNG or DS9, here they made a whole season out of it... i have friends who don't watch trek even though they like sci-fi because all they know of trek is "enterprise". that show was an insult. and archer would have made a good first officer, but captain? he had neither the self-assured arrogance of a kirk, no the brains and class of a picard, nor the presence of a sisko... sad.

Being a fan, when STNG came out i watched it like a cultist.

DS(9was good and different, but got better as it went along.
It sad that they screwed Terry ferral from the last episode and the Marriage of Jadzia and Worf is like #1

Voyager was good as well, but they were swihy washy with janeway being a hard AZZ Captain, Sometime she like mess with me and eat your dinner thru a straw and the another time, oh we can't do that.

ENT took awhile for me to get into as i watch Scott bakula as Quantum leap and that took a bit to get passed, but the series came out good as it picked up, they cut it too short.

Deep Space Nine is my all time favorite because I like the fact it is a spacestation instead of a starship. And it has ALOT more conflict.
Voyager and TNG would be tied because they were just awesome with data for TNG and janeway for voyager
Enterprise is 2nd to last because I never really got into it but I think I'd like it if I watched more of enterprise.
The original series is last because I'm kinda modern person. I kinda special effects ;p

Well having just sort of answered this in the `Best Captains' thread here goes again...

1) TNG ~ The first series I ever watched and so far the best.
2) DS9 ~ The Dominion War was the second best story arch Ive every watched.
3) TOS ~ Kirks Randomness and Fantasy/Sci-Fi exploration always made me laugh.
4) VOY ~ I thought it was good until the entirity of Voyager was turned into Nazi controlled Paris. Then I stopped watching.
5) ENT ~ Although I can watch this more than Voyager, parts of it hurt me. Like the fact they made Enterprise LOOK better than Kirks enterprise. I mean WTF?!
