No matter what, when it comes down to it, the Borg are the ultimate race, even if they do have their own short comings.

Hmmm well I would say the Q they are more or less Gods and I don't think they ever had an enemy which could defeat them except themselves with that civil war they had.

I'd have to say species 8472.

The Q are the most powerful race that I can remember.

yeah the Q are the most powerfull we have seen so far. one click of their fingers and they could wipe anything away even species 8472.
not including the Q i would say the Federation is actually. the have beaten Romulans, Klingons, Borg, Species 8472 and in a way even beat Q!

Outside of the Q I would probably say Species 8472. If they launched an all out assault I doubt anything would be able to stand in their way. Then definately the Borg.

Id say either the Continuum or "Them" from the Q and A novel. After them would be a tie between the Borg and 8472.:D

My Favorite race is the Dominion. The best soldiers, powerful leaders ..... and the vorta.
I hope it will be possible that the Dominion will be playable in STO.

Q is the obvious answer.
/shrug
I usually miss the obvious answers.
HUMANS,FTW!!!!!!!!
The other races.......they hate us. They want what we have. They can't stand us......but, they can't beat us. We have rap AND country. We have all you can eat buffet bar's with pizza and crab rangoon AND fried chicken ON THE SAME BAR. You can't beat that. Klingon's don't have any trailer parks. Never heard of a Borg getting eaten by a grizzly or a shark while trying to take a picture. You will never see Species 8472 internet porn or a Ferengi score a touchdown. Could the Dominion have made Caddyshack or Bud Light?
I think not.
We rule.

My choice would be as others have already stated "Q" then maybe the Borg if they decided to attack full strength that is...

I exclude the Q because they're omnipotent beings. So, I'll say the Borg. The only times they got beat was due to scripts that deviated from Borg SOP. In Voyager, we see that when the Borg assimilate a world, they send dozens of cubes, with millions of drones. But, each time they attacked Earth it was at minimal strength. Borg win by sheer force of numbers, if not by technological superiority.

As much as I want to say Klingons, I have to say that the Q are definitely the most powerful...by far. They are omnipotent after all.

I would say the Whale Probe.
lol, I like that answer, but I think the Q are the most powerful race.

The Q Continuum would be the most powerful race followed by 8472 and then the Borg.
The Federation, as much as I wish I could say that it's the most powerful, it isn't. It is however the smartest and the Federation does know how to fight, and fight well. The Federation's intelligence has resulted in the Federation never loosing a war. That is quite a track record.

I don't know..
I guess I would have to say Q (really don't count tho as they are Omnipotent Beings), followed by the Borg (sheer numbers and technology), next Species 8472 (I mean it does take Borg nano tech to defeat them after all) then Klingon (original bad guy that can kick anyones butt. :D).

Ranking:
1st: Q
2nd: Species 8472
3rd: Borg
4th: Dominion
5th: Klingon
6th: Romulan
7th: Federation
8th: Cardassians
Excluded: Ferengie, a race who could just buy a Dominion-sized Fleet for themselves...
Species are still better than Borg, because a borg cube isn´t as maneuverable as a bioship, can not oneshot a species bioship safe (even a borg torpedo sometimes misses a target)- bioship can. Species have more altered technology (in biological evolution development, they´re perfekt), needn´t as much manpower for a well- armed ship as borg do. So species have still advantage, also they became vulnerable due Voyager´s experiments)

Most powerful?
Dunno each and every race has its pro's and con's
I dont think there is any one "MOST" powerful race.

Q, without a doubt. They're stupid with their powers though.
Douwd
07-29-2008, 06:47 AM
Douwd of course:cool:
I don't think that the Q continuum is by far the most powerful race, but they are the winners. I'd like to remember the Traveler, with the ability to focus space and time and the Caretaker, extradimensional noncorporeal lifeform. Who knows how powerful are their races?
And, of course, my favourite (although not the most powerful), the Borg. Even Q advises not to provoke the Borg...

Odo's race, whatever they were.

Skipping Q and the like (Organians, Trellane, etc.) and future races/craft, Borg are pretty good, but besides getting whooped by 8742, there are other races that would be a serious challenge, possibly even harder than either of those.
Among them are:
1. The partially phase-shifted race that threatened to kill Wesley when he tripped into that plant hotbox.
2. The lightbulb ship guys ("hey, drink the Tranya!") who had a monster vessel that would probably clean the clock of the Enterprise-J, and that was in TOS. God only knows where their tech is "now".
3. The 100-limbed race in TOS that was trying to invade the galaxy. You know, partly parodied on SNL with "...played Ensign redshirt So-and-so, who got turned into a cube and crushed." It was actually a dodecahedron!
4. Whatever created V-ger, and I do believe that it was the Borg is still not official cannon.

that the whole point of the "badass" species introduced over the years was to demonstrate that there is no truly superior species. Each has their strengths and weaknesses. The fun was to see how each would interact and "defeat" the other... through strength, weaponry, outsmarting, or whatever.
Little spocky logic here folks: If there really was one supremely powerful species, there would only be one species in space. The rest would be kept at the amoeba level on their own worlds or used as food.
Course, I could be wrong (or a Borg plant designed to throw you off).

Actually if you weigh up all the story lines the most powerful race are actually the humans... yes, the humans.
If you think the Q are smarter, then look at how Piccard and Janeway out thought Q, and helped Quinn die.
Who helped the Borg defeat 8471?
Who smacked the Borg into the middle of the next century?
Who taught the Vulcans that you need randomness to survive?
Who are the primary focus of Star Trek?
...Humans
;)

Have you seen the size of their ships? They can beam an intrepid (and easily a galaxy or sovereign) inside one of their vessels.

Q is on top, then Humans cause Q seen humanities future for evolving. Then there is a huge question on the Race that built V'GER's ship. V'GER of course was orginally built by Humans on Earth, but the ship and power
could take out even the Borg and any other species that crosses it's path.
So I list it like this for Life Forms then Race;
#1. Q
#2. V'GER
#3. Probe (Humpback Whale)
#4. Humans
#5. Species 8472
#6. Borg
#7. The Traveler

To be honest, if the Borg were to ever send more than one ship to attack the Federation it would be all over. But, being the cybernetic race they area, efficiency is paramount. Also, they're supremely overconfident. But imagine for a moment a fleet of 200 Cubes converging on Earth. Yeah, the Federation's capital would be gone in about half a second.

The Q are obviously the most powerful but if we limit the choice to "normal" beings then I´d say Species 8472.

Hmmmmm either the borg because they are PWNAGE or 8472 because they killed the borg (lots of them anyways). Other than those two it would have to be the federation from the future in the last epesode of ST Voyager because when future janeway came the weapons she gave them were crazy. :D:D:D

so they were, the Ocompa are the most powerful, cause they got some kick ass abilities, that nearly tore voyager apart in one episode it was only when they talked her down that she stopped ripping the ship appart
