Just as a quick history of STOFleet for ya, we opened in late 2005 under President Vochre. Our old site www.stofleet.com was great, we had over 500 members, and was very active with an Academy, and several ships. The site went down for several months, and myself and a few others started a new STOFleet, now named STOFleet Command. From then on, we've been on that same site and we're slowely rebuilding to the greatness that we once were.

We're currently in the middle of a Joint-Fleet Role-Playing Plot with Gemini Fleet, hosted by GF. When demand see's fit, we open up our Academy, which has detailed guides on a specific field (Command, Security, Science, etc) that has been written over years by experianced Officers, over at UCIP (used with Permission). We've had a role-playing group for the game Star Trek: Elite Force with the RPG-X mod.

STOFleet is always evolving and changing into something better. If you're even the slightest bit interested, I recommend stopping by our website and taking a look around. And if you think you'd like it, go ahead and sign up! There are positions on both the Final Frontier (which is a non-RP ship) and the Endeavour (our RP ship).

Well, to tell the truth Drahn, I hardly see many on the STOFleet site, so perhaps they do not know about our fleet thread here yet.
I am confident that they all know about ST:O being developed by Cryptic now, but until they sign up here and find our fleet thread, I guess we have the ship to ourselves. :D

With his return, perhaps the rest of the 180+ members will begin to register here with the rest of us who have started already.

Also, we are discussing ideas on the STOFleet site about how to incorporate our fleet into the game, vis-a-vis the fleet Star Base concept and how we as a group would interact in-game. Given the fact that we all will have our own individual ships, and that Mr. Emmert stated that there will be some missions that will require fleet involvement to succeed, I am hoping that we, together, can function as 'squadrons' or some such, and accomplish those goals.

Hey there guys it's Sorbek was signed up with you guys to be a Klingon security officer on our flagship. Hopefully they won't make Klingons/Feds always fight each other. I am now thinking of going with the klingon empire want to command a Vor'Cha class attack cruiser as well as K'Vort class Bird of Prey. If possible would still group up for Pve content with you all. If not i'll see you all on the battlefield. Will still sign up on your site to talk about the game and stay updated on what server you all intend to be on. Who knows may make a federation guy too if possible. So excited another company has picked up the game and got things rolling!

Oh, and I am sure that BoP's will be standard fare for Klingon players in-game, but Vor'Cha's may be on the "Hub ship" list for that faction.

Hopefully they will do away with Hub ships...the video showed a Galaxy Class Star Ship in the fighting. That way there will be a chance for us to command any of the Star Trek ships that are still around!

With the BoP I just keep seeing "Yesterday's Enterprise" Where the 3 Klingon BoP's attack the Enterprise D while it defends the Enterprise C. What fun that will be!!!

your getting mixed up my friend. That was the movie Generations and that was a B'riel class BoP..K'Vorts are much more modern and advanced as well as larger. I'm talking about the Episode

Ah well, in my defence, the "Yesterday's Enterprise" episode referred to the K'Vorts' as battle cruisers and not BoP's, so I naturally thought of the B'rel from Generations. My mistake.
In the Enterprise-d's defence though, she did manage to take out one K'Vort while primarily protecting the 'C' from attack.
I have always found the "Alternate Time line" type of episode very satisfying. Probably because of the battle scene's that seem to permeate most of them.;)

Yeah it was an alternate time line, but they do really exist, Its the same kind of BoP that attacked the Vor'cha Class Attack Cruiser when Worf went back to the Klingon home world to get his Honor back. The Brel's are over 20 years old in the Generations movie, no way they could do any kind of damage to anything by this time line I would think.

I suppose so. But with modern up-grades ( hypothetically speaking - of course) I should think that they could cause serious worries! Especially a pack of 'em.
Given their small size and manoeuvrability, I would imagine they could swarm a larger vessel and deal out some fairly good damage, if not out-right take it out.

Definitely! I would hope 2-3 K'vorts would be able to take out a Federation Battle Cruiser as well. I know Federation should have superior Defensive sytsems and good Offensive weaponry, Hopefully they will balance it out so Klingons have the opposite of that.


On another note...


I have been watching the gameplay trailer over and over, I'm trying to figure out what their talking about when people say this has subpar graphics....I watch it full screen at 1280x720 Res and it looks outstanding. If this is gameplay its good enough for me to love. Anyone able to point out exactly what the haters are talking about?

The Gamma/Badlands missions proved successfull, and the fleet is returning to starbase 234. In the process, some of us are slow in returning...namely the severly damaged Alahambra. She is under tow and will take some time to reach home base.
The Tennessee is towing and the Ultimatum and Betelgeuse are in formation with her as escort.

Update on the STOFleet SMS RP site.
A few ships have gone to the assistance of the Romulan High Command in order to put down some Romulan insurgents that have been crossing the neutral zone. We wish them well.
Meanwhile, the Betelgeuse has accidentally been swept back over 200 years into the past and is currently stranded deep inside Klingon space, trying to repair and get away before being detected and contaminating the time line. Let us hope Captain Archer and the Enterprise don't show up un-expectedly! :eek:

Its not too bad but a little slow to tell the truth; but its been that way for a little while now; I think its after waiting for all this time. However we're trying to make some moves to getting things more active. Hopefully things will pick up soon.

Well hodges, it seems that all those members had registered and then never ever posted since then. Since then, the Co-Leaders have sent out mass e-mails trying to contact these 'section 31' type people and after numerous tries, we finally decided that it was time they were 'retired'.
Should they decide to re-apply, we have their accounts in storage and may re-instate them...much like Suicidem00n did recently.

Actually, we would hope for a more in depth participation than occasional posts on the forums. Once the game goes live, there will be more of a influence on Fleet participation (within the game), and as such we hope to have members who are in the game posting hints, tips and intelligence on our forum threads designed for that purpose.

Of course, we would like more from our members at this point in time also, other than random posts in the General Chat thread. The RP needs content too!;)

are you looking for command level officer like a chief engineer

Command level Officers would normally take a while to achieve. Forum participation and Fleet abilities would be a couple of the pre-requisites to achieve a command level rank.

First of all, where the hell are you guys? I'm not very impressed with the lack of communication in our suposed fleet. Are we ever getting the STOFleet website back?

Our website is back online at www.stofleet.com. Robgomm, our downtime was grossly underestimated, partially due to the fact that our backup source was bad as well, and we had to basically start from scratch. For that, I accept full responsibility and am deeply sorry for the inconvenience. Changes are being made to prevent this problem from happening again in the future.

With that being said, STOFleet is gearing up for Open Beta. All of our members are coming back, and we're looking forward to meeting up in-game. Head over to the Forums if you'd like and get re-acquainted with 'em, since it's been so long. :P

Trufully, I cannot let David take full responsibility for the downtime folks. My lack of familiarity with the FTP and SSH protocols did not help at all. Of course, the backup was crappy...something about broken strings in the file transfer uploads (? :confused: ) , or some-such.

Anyway, as previously stated, please log in and check out the Star Trek Online Players threads to find your Fleet mates in game. There are a whole squadron or two already in OB churning out missions and finding the bugs.
