i agree, i'd love to do a ship/crew thing with firefly!
Loved the series, might watch it through again tomorrow.
I have no idea what else would be available...
Doctor maybe? Or Security Chief.

A Brown Coat civilian vessel then?
And everyone else in our Trek Universe would blow by us without so much as batting an eye...

...I had the idea of a semi-civilian force operating under the aegis/protection of a Starbase commander - a plausibly deniable ragtag band who get things done in exchange for being able to fly free and think free without too much Fed interference.
But if just a ship it is and "button-cute engineer" has already gone, I'll take the "ninja / diplomat / courtesan" class :D

If no one wants it i will be the warrior priest, that Shepherd Book was he was my fav character, and Ron Glass is a really nice guy ,he accually sat down and talked to me at Dragon con for 20 mins (his choice). He was awsome.

Typical. You give 'em all these classes to choose from and everyone just rolls Shaman...(Penny Arcade comic clicky linky) (http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2006/12/11/)
:) (kidding, btw)

Don't mix genres... I love Firefly, but I would never try and make Trek into Firefly or vice versa. Besides, now that they have the Firefly RPG, it's just a matter of time until there's a Firefly MMO.

A Firefly mmo is in development..hang on, let me find the link... http://update.multiverse.net/forum/viewforum.php?f=16&theme=multiverse
Multiverse have the rights, they either need a developer or distributer or both, can't remember which of the top of my head at the moment. Google may be getting involved as well, so rumour has it o.O

True enough, but the quality of Firefly's in the writing and there are no Mutant Enemy staffers working on the project.
Plus, there's no reason you couldn't apply the attitude of the Whedonverse to Trek, or even guest appearances from the characters themselves.
Though it is difficult having a Federation turning up within a Federation.
Unless, of course, Q trapped those early first colonists in an illusion or pocket dimension, to let them think there was no other intelligent life. To run a grand social experiment to prove that devoid of other enemies, humans would swiftly turn on themselves...
...plus he'd do it for kicks anyway.
Hmmm. Slashfic senses tingling.... *flexes fingers*

I think the Firefly MMORPG is dead. I was active on their forums for a few months after they announced it, but since there hasn't been any information for over a year, the project has likely been scraped. Of course, I didn't think that they would make anything near our expectations using the Multiverse engine. However, the forums over there have alot of good ideas on many MMORPG topics, especially skill based leveling.

so does he even know what his hidden past was? always wonder what he was... by the hints I was guessing one of the founders of the Alliance who was unhappy with the direction they took and left..
Loved Firefly but didn't have cable the year it was on Fox so never heard of it... saw it on Sci Fi and got hooked only to find out it was a canceled series when I was at Bestbuy and found the series for sale.... needless to say was gorram unhappy when found out

Same here just didn't watch Fox and caught it on SciFi one day before work when they were runnin' a marathon. Went and scored the box set at Best Buy a week later.
